Even if a monitor doesn't have a 1:1 mode, you should be able to get 1:1 pixel mapping thru the Forceware drivers. Don't know if ATI has anything similar.
Games on the VG236HE would be more fun by default as the monitor is uncoated, so the picture isn't dulled/distorted/diffused by a semi-opaque plastic layer.
Depends on what's meant by "LED backlight".... what's in use in 99% of LED LCDs is not backlight, but edge-light... Simple white LEDs.
Backlit RGB LED ~ yay
Edgelit White LED ~ nay
And whether edge-lit white LEDs actually improve anything or just makes LCDs worse... that is completely...
According to http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1607726 the 2511x is glossy.
And this HP website: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/display/display/1/storefronts/XP599AA%2523ABA claims it has "BrightView". However it also says that it reduces glare... which makes no sense, and would mean...
Not trolling in any way.
Especially considering that now $2200 is only 13670 SEK. That would be seriously cheap for a brand new FW900.
If the Dollar had the same value as back then when it was released, not sure what it would be... Lets just say somewhere around 20 000 SEK, that would be a...
They were only $2200?
If I could get a brand new one now, I'd probably pay that. It would hurt economically. But at least it would actually be an awesome and proper display.
Spending that much money on a computer is a fail in of its own...
Anyway it's irrelevant how much you've spent on a computer; it is still stupid to spend lots on an LCD when it will suck (now if it didn't, say it was an uncoated superfast RGBLED A-TW IPS with high build quality, then it...
I know the word Nu equals Now, but I'm not sure what .nu is supposed to be. That is to say, if it's meant to actually mean anything, or if the guy who invented it just took the word.
Not gonna research it though... don't really care.
Haven't seen a .tk in a long while, as I remember it...
No idea what .nu means.
A lot of things are related to German...

bruder - broder - brother
apfel - äpple - apple
eis - ice
haus - house
I tried http://translate.google.com/ now and entered...
Wow that's totally random. It's a swedish site.
What do you mean, clicking on the link takes you to some other site when using IE or some other non-FF browser?
It should look like this:

(About that last screenshot; I don't have a capture addon installed ATM in FF. This was just...
If I wanted a monitor for gaming I'd definitely get the VG236HE. (the HE version is the one without the 3D crap included, so thus cheaper).
120hz. It has a clear surface (so guaranteed to feel natural for your eyes). 400cdm/2. So games should look/feel pretty good on it.
~340 USD.
That makes no sense. Maybe the 2509b is 24.83, but the G245H is supposed to be 23.6. It has a dot pitch of 0.2721mm. If it was 22.8 it would be only 0.2629mm.
However, Google results: http://www.google.com/search?q=G245H+"pitch" show the pitch as 0.276, which it would have if it was actually...

Edit: If you use that site I mentioned to search for monitors...
If you're in Europe you might still be able to find the Acer G245Habid, which should be glossy: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1037308927&postcount=14
If you're in North America try finding the G245Hbmid.
I've had the HP 2510i and it had quite severe vertical gamma shift.
The 2-11x...
If you mean "intended for office work environments", then yeah I agree, it would be dumb. If I used a computer in any type of workplace I'd want a matte display (unless the workplace in question was dark or allowed for tweaking the lighting conditions). That's why they should release matte...
Nowadays you can't. That's the point. If there was such a monitor I'd already own it.
Actually I'd probably own the 24" 1920x1200 ACD if it had zero to extremely low input lag and was faster, even though it doesn't have an A-TW polarizer.
VA would be "perfect" (very big quotation marks) if it wasn't for the gamma shift (the nature of which is more annoying than Vertical Gamma Shift on a TN)... but then it wouldn't be VA, and TN wouldn't be TN without the VGS, and IPS won't get A-TW polarizers, and other issues. The entire LCD...
If by professional you mean intended for office work environments, then yes that's true.
If by professional you mean simply high quality or high-end, then that's very incorrect.
However the actual reason as to why it probably won't happen has nothing to do with that; rather it's because of...
Why ask me? Obviously it's the limitation / part of the tech, but as to the specific reason of why it happens, ask someone who knows the inner workings of the TN technology. As for the last bit, what kind of question is that? They're not TN in the first place, so why should they suffer from...
I don't play games at all (used to though, years ago). Only have 1 game on the computer, and that I only installed a few months ago to test input lag.
I'm just totally used to every aspect of CRT, so I notice anything odd instantly.
The ghosting on the 2510i, I could spot easily and...
Perhaps, but I hope you're wrong.
Tried to find some additional info about it and found this:
http://www.amazon.de/Acer-G245HAbid-widescreen-Monitor-Kontrastverh%C3%A4ltnis/dp/B0035JL8T0
"Der Monitor ist ein Glare Monitor"
and...
"sieht dank Glare Display noch besser aus."
which Google...
They or some other developers should just reinvent the TN tech in a way that fixes the vertical gamma shift. Because that's much more of a problem than the viewing angles.
Seems that the B is probably a different panel from the M version, as the 2510i is the european version of the 2509m (probably, because I think the 2510i was released before the B was)... and the 2510i that I tested had massive bleeding in comparison to the one in your video. It looked worse...
The name GS is simply because the gamma values change, rather than the color itself (but of course, color will appear different when you lower or raise gamma).
Yeah of course it's always present, but it's much less noticeable on bright colors.
For example something like this...
Other reasons being; input lag*, AG coating**, small size***. There were some other problems but they weren't of any real importance.
* it's at least 10ms. I game very little, but I tested an FPS and it was immediately noticeable (meaning it changed how the game could be played, because you...
Before even considering either, take either home from a store with a good return policy (so you know you can return it) and test it for like a week to see if you can stand the gamma shift.
That's the number one thing here.
And from what I've read they both seem to be way overpriced in North...

QuickGamma will look/behave a bit odd on a TN panel, but you can still use it to tweak stuff.
So is your overall impression/experience of the HP that it's better than the Acer?
Because I've used the 2510i, which is the european version of the 2509... and I wasn't all that impressed by it.
It's strong points is, though, that it's pretty fast (the OD does sucks), is large and has...
I mean for PC use in general, not specialized hardware like an iPhone that runs its own special software. Yeah zooming in FF works great but it's stupid to have to sit and zoom all the time ~ not only is it a bother but it's also unnatural. Websites are supposed to be viewed as the their creator...
Very low dot pitch mainly only benefit games. But some games not (can make various menus, things you click on and stuff, and/or ingame text very tiny).
Pictures appears really small and... yeah, mostly everything; webpages, OSs, programs, text, etc.
Videos don't suffer from lower dotpitch...
Yeah that's what I gathered too.
2560x1600 @ 24 = 0.2019mm ... lol
Would make certain things look nicer but would be useless as an everyday normal computer display.
The 4.5" screen, 329ppi... 1280x720 on 4.5 is 326.36 so it's a res something like that.
Dot Pitch: 0.0778mm o______o...
