Can only think of 3 issues I've had with the game;
- sound muting (New York)
- texture corruption in sky (New York)
- dual cursor when opening console
Other than that game runs amazing on my PC (Ryzen 1700 @ 3.7, Vega 64 @ 2560x1600 with max settings, 16GB ram @ 3000 & Samsung 950 pro NVMe).
SvenBent, you're a rockstar!
Thankyou for your Win7 ISO with USB3/NVMe drivers.
I was able to create my own custom ISO with the USB3 drivers but couldn't extract the Samsung 950 drivers from their installation package. I'm guessing your image uses generic NVMe drivers?
In any case I've been...
Wait so the NA cluster was merged with the EU server? That's disappointing as I was thinking of joining the EA testing. No way I'm doing that now, my ping (Australia) would be terrible.
Played WoT on the EU server for 6k games which I had to abandon. The connection degraded into a...
That's a very old article, cira late 07 thus the information is out of date.
If I remember correctly, the Mozilla foundation ended its relationship with google late last year.
I love my strategy games tho this does look a bit daunting. I know if I surrendered a couple hours to this title, it'll be like trying to kick a crack habit to stop.
Depends what you're into. Personally I find RTS/TBS's to be very relaxing and swallow huge chunks of time. Personal favourites;
-civ V
-total war series (Rome, Medieval 2 & Rome 2 to lesser extent)
-banished (very pleasant 'city builder' sim. Mods add a lot)
-ftl (less stressful with chasing...
I did look at the Cougar 700M & the Corsair M65 as well. I definitely liked the adjustable palm rest, wish there were more adjustable mice on the market.
The reason I didnt go with it was the other 2 mice were rated at 20m clicks vs 5m on the cougar. Sure 5m should be plenty but still burnt...
I'm jealous, I loved that game. The last RPG I truely enjoyed aside from maybe Dragon Age: Origins. KotOR II was never really finished properly tho I believe there is a mod that replaces the content lucasart cut out.
Personally I'll probably play World of Tanks because I'm stupid and in need...
lol thought this subforum had died due to the overwhelming number of responses.
Thanks for replyimg Dan tho I already picked up a replacement. Also went with Logitech as the mouse before the RAT was a MX1000 which must have lasted 6-7yrs.
Got a G502 rather than a G600. The damn thing is still...
As title mentions, looking to replace my RAT7 mouse.
This is my second RAT7, the first one the middle mouse/scroll wheel button failed after 3 months. My current one 12mths later, the same thing.
Not looking to get another as apparently the internals are shit. Real shame to as it was the...
Obsidian have put up the 'founder's pack' for sale. It allows players to get into the early access later this month...
http://aw.my.com/us/founders-packs
The 3 packs range from 15 to 70 bucks. Pretty decent value when compared to WoT pricing for gold, premium time and the 4 premium tanks you...
Never been that keen on cases for mobile phones. However my experience with past mobiles has taught me shit happens. Having said that, the tech21 case and screen protector for my galaxy s5 are pretty decent. Both accessories have saved my phone on more than a few occasions...
Ubi have been doing this type of consumer wallet rape for some time. Ghost Recon Phantoms (previously ghost recon online) was one of my favourite online tactical shooters but the P2W model just got out of hand.
They're currently charging ~$50 for a single top tier weapon pack for 1 class (3...
This thread just highlights that steam is a brilliant scam. No one is ever going to finish their back catalogs. Not unless someone ends up incapacitated or in a hospital bed for a extended period.
Personally I like to find games that have infinate replayability and play them to death. RTS, TBS...
Some good suggestions on games with 'bleak settings'. I also choose to interpret the OP's title to mean 'bleak' rather than 'depressing'. I'd rather not get depressed while playing a game, RL has ample opportunity to do that for you.
Stalker series - great setting, great game. Nice & bleak...
I have both, T1100 (@4ghz) & FX8350 (@5ghz). I was hesitant to get the fx but for gaming there was a definate benefit especially if you do any game recording (obs full quality 1920x1080 @ 60fps... Depends on the game however) or encoding.
The single thread is also better especially if you only...
Same here. The recent ff update with the new ui is horrible. Like you, the classic theme restorer was a god send. Probably why I stick to ff for the plugins and customisation.
On android phones its a different story. I'd prefer to stick with ff but it's too buggy on my S5. If mozilla sorts...
damn that sucks, you would think a non-reference board would at least give you the basic sensor probes.
there is a possible alternative, use temp diode probes (a couple of bucks each at most). your motherboard would of course need to support the 2 pin leads. if not there are some after-market...
have you tried HWiNFO64. this grabs all the relevant GPU monitoring data (core temp, VRM temps, clocks, voltages, utilisation, etc)
*sorry about pic size, linked direct from HWiNFO site.
worth a try even tho your card isn't a reference model.
quick note, not a good idea to run a...
still trying to decide if i can get away with cleaning up the blocks and chucking them back in. probably not the best idea, just end up in same situation a couple months down the road i guess.
i have been looking at heatkiller as an alternative tho despite EK's shitty rep with nickel plating...
i had my case mod/loop rebuild on the backburner for a long time, around a year i think.
i finally got off my arse to do something about it.
one of the reasons i put it off for so long was in part due to this...
gunk in the lines is generally a bad sign. i thought i just had a...
the OP has probably already made his mind up on the processor he wanted. i was surprised no one mentioned the other small but key differences between the 4770S & 4770K. those being the virtualisation and various protection instructions missing from all 'K' chips...
FTL is a great game tho as others have mentioned the RnG in some games can be brutal. wish i knew about the 'no rebel fleet' mod, need to try that one.
if you don't get a decent start in the first couple of sectors (good amount of scrap, a couple of extra crew, a couple of good starter...
i've gone thru a bunch of mice over the last 12 months.
-Logitech MX1000: 8 years, sensor eventually died.
-Logitech G700: 2 weeks, nice mouse, great scroll wheel, completely wrong shape for claw-grip and USB cord that's too stiff to use corded.
-SteelSeries Sensei: 1 month, another nice mouse...
had the same issue, game locking up and having to ctrl-alt-del to kill exe.
i did read on TWCenter that unticking 'core 0' in 'set affinity' resolves most crashes. i tried it and it did reduce my crashes/lock-up dramatically.
the game still needs a lot of work.
samsung SSD's are fantastic. have three of the things. 256GB 830 (OS drive) , 512GB 830 (steam drive) and a 500GB 840EVO (for recording RAW video game footage on a secondary gaming rig). was a bit iffy on the 840 non-PRO's but i imagine the PRO 840's are great.
i was originally sold on my 1st...
same.
have 2 AMD systems atm, 1100/sabertooth R2 & 8350/CHV and was really hoping to get 1 last chip upgrade for either system. admittedly the old thuban/PD chips work great with threaded stuff (encoding. archiving & the like) but the single core performance can drag in shitty optimised code...
agreed.
and Decimus, whether its worth buying or not depends a lot on how you viewed the previous TW titles. there seems to be 2 camps in the fan base now. the old TW die-hards who consider Rome & Medieval II the pinnacle of the TW franchise and newer fans who prefer Empire (tho even these...
Homeworld
Homeworld: Cataclysm
i would almost killed to see a 'proper' sequel for this game
Star Wars: Rebellion
really under rated 4x RTS in star wars universe. if they ever updated this game, i'd be in heaven.
Star Trek: Birth of the Federation
pretty much the same as 'Rebellion'...
the PD batches varied a lot where OC head-room was concerned. there is a massive thread over on overclock.net on this topic.
i think the average speed you could take a 8350 (the 8320 by an large just didn't clock as high) on air is 4.6-4.7Ghz. that's stable speeds with none of the modules...
had very similar experience. like the OP and yourself, i claw-grip my mice.
at beginning of year my old Logitech MX1000 died, surprised it lasted as long as it did, had it since early 2005.
i think anyone who enters the market for a new mouse hate the experience (i did) as old muscle...
i'm a huge fan of the 'Total War' series. my personal favourite is the original Rome followed by by 'Medieval II'. used so many mods on those 2 games alone, i've forgotten the number. Shogun 2 was decent tho imho the time period and japan didn't really grab me. Empire was a little boring...
i was in the same boat a few months ago. i had the same mouse as you (MX1000) and the exact same thing happened when mine started to fail (jittery cursor like there was a hair or dirt on laser sensor). i loved the mouse so much i pulled it apart to clean everything + sensor lens but it was too...
primary PC has 1x Samsung 830 256GB (OS & Programs) & 1x Samsung 830 512GB (Games/Steam).
kinda overkill with 512GB just for games tho we know how quickly the steam folder gets bloated.
cant get the 830's any more, bought em cheap just before 840's were just hitting shelves. other than price...
i only read the 'windows 8' threads now to see how many posts it takes before heatless pops in.
heatless your title shouldn't read...
"Pick your own.....you deserve it., 7.4 Years"
it should be...
"Stockholmed., 7.4Years"
