Doesn't this only affect a small portion of people? I've never had even a hint of eye strain from any OLED (iPhone, TV) including this new QD monitor and I sit in front of it programming for hours a day and gaming in the dark.

I use a media player program that does auto switch it. If you were using a browser then you would just hit Win+Alt+B to turn on and off HDR when you are playing the content.

Why would you need to have the desktop in HDR mode? HDR mode only activates when HDR media playback starts in my media player.

I don't use HDR for desktop use and I never would. I have only used it for movies and TV shows so far which I have a lot of in HDR.

I must not be sensitive to ABL because I use HDR1000 mode for watching movies and TV shows all the time and I can't say I have ever noticed an ABL effect on mine.

For me, by far the best monitor I have ever seen. No issues with near black for HDR, looks better than any WRGB OLED I have seen for that. Personally have not noticed any flickering.

I have not used any liquid yet as I have not needed to. I have only needed to clean off occasional finger smudges and similar things. If I needed more than a dry wipe clean I would start with distilled water, and then move to the Eclipse cleaning solution if the distilled water didn't work.
