Nintendo's goal is to profit on hardware. They've stated as much. They'll do gimmicky stuff often to present consumers with "something new". The Wii became more successful than even they imagined. Sales numbers have also fallen sharply over the past year or so.

The cards are said to be delivered to them by September 1st. The only additional time is how long it'll take for them to ship the card out to you. The $105 tier includes the game for $15 and the video card for $90.

Frankly, I'd prefer a reasonably priced Nvidia Kepler card. With mid-range Kepler delays and uncertainty, coupled with insane 680 pricing, the Radeon 7800 series looks interesting.
