yeah it was on top gear a while ago and they pretty much said there's no use for it unless you're like a mob boss or something
then you can just sit there, let the person shooting you use up all their ammo and then go beat them up
well no it still needs energy to flip transistors from one state to another state so if your stuff is 100% efficient then all the energy being used will be spent doing that and none to heat
i thought the article said the point where the metal connector is at is the cooling zone meaning it's not...
actually your definition of energy seems to be heat only but energy can be in other form
say you have 1KJ going into your system but it's so efficient that there's almost no resistance in the system then most of the energy will go into actually doing stuff
what i don't understand is that i...
is it just me or does a lot of ppl on here are mixing up MB/s and Mb/s or more commonly Mbps?
MB/s = megabytes per second
Mb/s or Mbps = megabits per second
it's 1000Mbps speed and not 1000MB/s speed which is closer to a 10Gbps connection
compress 1080p video is closer to 30Mbps not 30MB/s...
i like how they're able to offer a gigabit connection to a much more dense population and profit for a price way lower than anything in Canada without their nodes being too busy when in Canada the ISP complains that "ppl are downloading too much therefore we need to charge heavy users"
this game is going to be sweet!
frostbit 2.0 engine supports direct x 11 and 64bit processor
wonder if that means 64bit only
but the quasi real time radiosity is sick!
it's going to be a proper game too since PC platform is going to be the lead platform they develop on and then port it...
think they mean GTX560Ti or HD4870 running SLi/CrossFireX and they added them up to be 1.8GB or greater video memory even though it doesn't really add up like that
^ exactly what I thought
I don't run an ISP but I do have a degree in Computer Engineering so I do know how ISP network works and from what I know it just doesn't make sense that it cost money to transfer data
Having more network utilization might increase power usage by a little which drives...
and I'm guessing you run an ISP?
What makes you think Telus or Bell pays per byte to transfer data?
Do you pay extra for transferring data from one computer on your network to another computer on your network? Nope
Now take this to a slightly larger scale for transferring data between you and...
i don't see it as a valid argument
if i download 100GB a month but at a speed of say 40KB/s no one will see their speed affected by that "huge" amount of download since the data is just trickling down to me
the bandwidth capacity of their server is a rate. say their server can handle a...
am i the only one here that see data transfer as a fixed cost?
once you have the infrastructure set up you only have to pay for maintance and power which all should be a fix cost to them
putting a cap on your usage doesn't make sense when they say it's to charge top users for using all of the bandwidth
first bandwidth is a rate but they like to use it interchangeably with the amount you download to confuse you to make their explanation make sense
if their backbone has a limit...
but i do buy the games... from steam and their method of delivering it to me is through the internet
like 2 months ago i bought dirt2 and that slightly over 10GB download
all PSP games are bought through the PSN store now
there's some PS3 games from the PSN store too
i do "rent" my movies...
yes!
harper said he's going to get the CRTC to review their decision on the ruling again

man...
isn't data transfering a fix cost for ISP?
how can they even justify charging for the amount of data we transfer?
like once you have the wires and server set up you just need to pay for utilities
not like if you need to transfer 100GB to india your data will be taxed to cross the boarder
there are cheaper plans with smaller caps... but you also get a much lower download/upload speed
might as well go back to dial up with unlimited data but limited to 56k speed
