Problem i have is that my cables i use to day sff-8087 to 4xSata do not say witch one is 1,2,3,4 and in the new case i will only use sff-8087 to sff-8087 to the backplane and the case do not say witch one is 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8,9..24
So only solution is to check serial number and port/positions...
I bet some one already asked this but i can't find a solid answer to it.
Currently using sff-8087 to 4xSata cables from my HP sas expander to all my disk in the array, but i am planing to move to a new case that have built in SAS backplane for all disk but i am having a hard time finding out in...
I am atm looking for same solution for my 2nd chassi to power my 2nd HP sas expander.

Yes, with the cages i have put in i have hot plug.
my bad, did mean 5-in-3, so it only fits 30x 3.5" hdd's.
Ye did starts reading about the Toshiba drives today, and now I might leave the RED drives in it's own array (or send them back never did like WD drives) to dump some data until I get some Toshiba drives, but need to find some more info about them (Toshiba DT01ABA300).
Dunno why i have missed...
1.) Lian Li PC-343 with 6x 6-in-3 cages so it fit's 36 drives + I got a another case on top of that that got space for another 30 drives, and use a external SAS cable between them (SFF-8088).
2.) HW RAID6 with hot spare (and cold spare).
3.) Use Areca 1680 card + 2x HP SAS expanders in...
My friend mirror it all on his server, and more important stuff i backup on smaller 8 disk NAS

Geting a 4x 3TB RED drives to expand my curent raid 6 array of 25x 3TB Hitatchi 3TB drives.
Current array is almost full so need to expand it ASAP :(
Guess i am best of puting these 4x RED drives in a own array for a few weeks for testing.
Ok, then i shud be fine to add a few WD Red in to my array of Hitachi 5k3000 drives.
On my raid card (areca 1680+hp sas expander) it say "Disk Capacity Truncation Mode = Multiples Of 10G".
Anyone tested these drives with sas expander or Areca 16xx or 18xx raid card??
Need to find a new disk to replace the superb hitachi 3TB 5k3000 drives, don't sell any more in Sweden :(
I use the Phobya Xtreme 200mm Radiator and it is "bolt on", you need to find new screws sins the stock fan is 38mm thick or buy 2xPhobya 180mm fans that are 25mm.
A picture of my TJ08 case.

Have about the same plan but i am gona fit a 180*180 rad in the front so i don't need to modify it.
180*180 radiator have more surface area than a 240*120 rad if the are the same thickness.
Well maybe a Habey EMC-600 case.

Well i ain't talking about a H67 chipset.
I am talking about Z68 and a i7 2600k @ 4.5-5.0Ghz.
And the stock cooler ain't quiet (spins up over 2000 rpm++ at full load), but that a difrent topic.
Well i have tryide my AMD 5870 with a EK fullcover waterblock in the SG07 and it fits.
So i...
Anyone seen any custom watercolled SG07 case??
And by custom watercolled i don't mean Corsair H50/70 or some thing like that, whant to see some full watercolled for both CPU and GPU :)
Gona move my i7 2600k rigg to my SG07 case as soon as some proper Z68 ITX card comes.
Hope to fit a...
Looks like Gigabyte started to shipp fixed boards.

So hope the ITX board with P67 is out soon :)
I am atm running 12x Samsung F4 2TB drives on my 1680 + HP sas expander and i get a few timeout on random drives but atm it is about 1 time out per month or less.
I have a realy hard time to think that you can't even change the multipel on a H67 if you have a "K" cpu.
So i think/hope that is BS, or that Asus or Gigabyte fix it on the "Gigabyte H67N-USB3" and "Asus P8H67-I Deluxe"
Strange, i have moved litel over 7 TB to the array and what i have seen it have keept a speed of around 150-250MB/s but i think it haven't got any higher because of the source disk i copy from ain't that fast.
Now i havde done some more testing.
Did expand my Raid 5 of 4x Samsung F4 2TB disk's to 6x and did move some data wile it was expanding and 0 timesouts so far, also done some restarts/power on/off.
I did get the timeout's the first 4-5h but after that i have got 0 timesouts so dunno if it was...
Hi
Did plug in 4x Samsung Eco F4 2TB HD204UI on my 1680x , atm i am creating up a Raid5 and i am at 96% Initiating.
And wile i was copying in some data, I did get a few (4-6x per disk) Timeout on the some of the disk's.
So i gues these disk ain't that good for Areca 1680 :(
Gona do some more...
