Eizo Foris FG2421: 120hz VA Panel

Hi Guys, got my fg2421 today and I disassembled it. Now you can see the panel is made from SHARP. According to the database, this panel is a true 10-bit panel but the color depth is limited by EIZO IMO, because I guess EIZO also has its high end product lines which use this panel with better...

    Dell U2711

Someone in China has already got it. I may assume this is an ES model and the guy who got this model mentioned it uses 8 U-type CCFL backlight not LED backlight. As he also mentioned It supports 10-bit color reproduction with 12-bit color processing chip, combined with ARGB and SRGB...

sRGB emulation in wide-gamut LCDs vs. sRGB LCDs

I think I should give one example here. I used Colo Navigator to emulate sRGB for my CG243W. You can see the significant changes before and after emulation - not via changing to sRGB mode. I like the emulation rather than sRGB mode and sRGB monitor as they are still not 100%...

sRGB emulation in wide-gamut LCDs vs. sRGB LCDs

First of all, I may assuem that if you want to do sRGB emulation, you need the monitor support hardware calibration. None hardware supported monitors may have GAMMA issues. AFAIK, some people tried to emulate sRGB color space for his U2410 monitor - but the GAMMA looks totally wrong. Does XL30...

    Eizo CG243/SX2462W discussion

I like silver/grey NEC. But for pro. use, just spend a little more and you get P221W. Very good monitor indeed. 10 BIT LUT and hardware calibration supported. Oh, you can also calibrate it to SRGB gamut to avoid over satuation BTW. For this price this is a real star.

    Eizo CG243/SX2462W discussion

Are you using color meter to measure the screen or spectrophotpmeter? I realised the uneven issue could happen but it shouldn't be that serious especially the DUE is always activating. BTW, for those guys from Eizo, 1050 Euros customers can get EIZO CG222W, I am sure this will do much better...

    Eizo CG243/SX2462W discussion

Partly agree. If I had this budget level, I would go for NEC LCD2690WUXI2. But I personally would like to get a better one, so I went for CG models. So far, very happy. The big problem for FLEXSCAN is, they do have the DUE but the uneven color is still a big issue. AFAIK, in taiwan...

    Dell U2410

Thought DELL may do the promo and check the website from time to time. Aalways be dispointted and won't go back to check again. Such a waste of time. Anyway, can't wait for too long and already bought Eizo CG243W last week. Regards Chum

    Dell U2410

As dell gives a good price to North Aamerica but priced around $700 in EU, I will stay away from U2410 from time to time. lol Regards Chum

    Dell U2410

You can only see 16.67 million colours from NECs not 1 billion colours. People are not stupid and EIZO does not need to tell lies. Anyway, as the engineer said, if you want a monitor which has a proper 10 bit colour not the dithering one, the CG232 would be the one. Well recommandation...

    Dell U2410

For the black level test, I can see 2 at minimum under SRGB mode, but from its its custom mode, after calibration, it is easily to see all of them. No dithering issues at all. Yes, I contacted EIZO earlier regarding to how 8 bit panel can show 10 bit colours especially the LM240WU4-SLA1 is a...

    Dell U2410

Hi m8. Don't be mislead by TFT Central, they've done really a lot of mistakes from their reviews so far. Not serious, but loads of slight mistakes. In terms of U2410, there is no 12 bit LUT at all! 12 bit colour prceccing is not 12 bit LUT (Look up table)! Colour proceccing and...

    Dell U2410

Due to your question, I have tesed my brand new EIZO CG243W. I switched this montor to its SRGB mode and you can see the colour gamut report, and also the colour accuracy report as well. Please note CG243W is a wide gamut monitor and this data is obtained from its SRGB mode. Any...

    Eizo CG243/SX2462W discussion

Thanks for your reminding m8, i've modified the picture. As far as i know, HITACHI stopped producing its desktop panels last year. But NEC and Mitsiubishi are still producing their own qualitative IPS panels. You can still see those panels are used on EIZO CG232, CG221, NEC LCD2190UXi...

    Eizo CG243/SX2462W discussion

Just got an EIZO CG243W from EIZO UK. I am wondering which panel it uses, so I disassembled my brand new CG243W to find it out. Now, you can see what panel they are using. Seriously, no lie, I feel really disappointed as I still miss the MITSUBISH made, HITACHI made and the NEC made IPS...
