I think I should give one example here. I used Colo Navigator to emulate sRGB for my CG243W. You can see the significant changes before and after emulation - not via changing to sRGB mode. I like the emulation rather than sRGB mode and sRGB monitor as they are still not 100%...

I like silver/grey NEC. But for pro. use, just spend a little more and you get P221W. Very good monitor indeed. 10 BIT LUT and hardware calibration supported. Oh, you can also calibrate it to SRGB gamut to avoid over satuation BTW. For this price this is a real star.

Are you using color meter to measure the screen or spectrophotpmeter? I realised the uneven issue could happen but it shouldn't be that serious especially the DUE is always activating. BTW, for those guys from Eizo, 1050 Euros customers can get EIZO CG222W, I am sure this will do much better...
