8 month owner here, let me supplement the review a bit.
I've been using this board since Haswell was released. Its running my 4770K at 4.5GHz and the memory is at 2400MHz. You forgot to mention the single reason this board is worth purchasing over the ASUS competitor. There was a 3 month...
The only time I read about a similar problem with the pure DP connector, the guy said he fixed it by replugging the connector. He said his cord didnt easily lock snugly in the socket.
I'm using 3xU2410s without incident.
I would like to upgrade to 3x Dell 3007s. I'm concerned with the DP->DVI not working as well as the green snow effect the 3007/ATI combination seem plagued with.
Kyle or anyone else,
Is the 3x3007 setup still working without issue? No green...
I switched from a 30 to 3x24. Yesterday I plugged the 30 back in to see if I'd miss it. I put the 24s back on after about 15 minutes. WoW at 5760x1200 > 2560x1600.
I do miss the extra vertical resolution though, which is why I'll soon be going 3x30.
And because I know the comments...
Did you switch back? I just plugged my 3007HC into my 5870 for the first time and got some of the horizontal green lines. None of the white sparkles i got with my 4870 though.
Im considering buying 2 more 3007s for Eyefinity so I'd love to hear if you could reproduce with the old cable.
Portrait is great for games where you stare at the center of the screen, FPSs for instance. I'm back playing WoW now and I have them in landscape. Looking around the screen at different UI mods makes the bezels a huge distraction. (3x24'')
Love it.
I've got 3 24'' dells (came from a 30'' dell).
At first i was using portrait which rocks for FPS use. Loved it. The huge vertical resolution is amazing.
Now I've switched back to WoW. I've changed them back to landscape. If you're palying a game where you have to move...
FWIW
I was playing some of the new Wolfenstein 2009 tonight while watching the 8 "cores" on my i7 920 @ 3.8GHz. They were all under 10%. My setup is 3600x1920 (3x1 24''ers in portrait mode).
I went with a 4870 (since no 4850s were in stock) and ordered two U2410s to go with my 2407.
Now I have to figure out what to do with the 30''er. Maybe it can replace my 36'' SDTV. Hmmmmmmm.
Kyle thanks for the video review. It really pushed me to consider this. (And listen to all my...
Kyle,
I'm curious how output will work with two cards.
If I have a two card setup (say 4850x2), I understand crossfire will NOT work at this point, but could I utilize a DVI output on the second card for a 3x1 all DVI setup?
If not now, will this config be supported with crossfire is enabled...
