Is there a program that performs the "Turn on Color Inversion" function of the Magnifier but only on specific windows rather than the whole screen? Thanks.
This contradicts with the article:
Also you still haven't explained why monitor specifications say "5ms (2ms GtG)". They should have been "0.5ms (2ms GtG)" if what you or xbitlabs were saying were the case.
You are saying BtB is slower than GtG. If I understand correctly, xbitlabs is saying the exact opposite.
You said:
The xbitlabs review says:
In another part of the article:
Which is slower, GtG or BtB?
According to this article: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/monitors/display/lcd-monitor-buyers-guide-spring2010.html
However this contradicts with the specifications of these monitors, which say "5ms (2ms GtG)", implying that BtB is slower than GtG...
No. If that were true, the Iranian, Tunisian and now the Egyptian governments would not have banned twitter during the protests. Also the American public would have been worried about Bin Laden spying on their thoughts about #AlQuaeda.
There isn't much "intelligence" being transmitted. We are...
The performance advantage in a dual CPU setup due to having two extra cores over the 980X is easily offset with the extra clock speed and overclockability of the 980X.
A $300 4-core Sandy Bridge 2600K matches the $1000 6-core Nehalem 980X and overclocks better.
Therefore, you should save your...
If you have presbyopia, you can order glasses specific for computer usage. They will be optimized to focus at exactly the distance between your eyes and the computer screen.
I am surprised how such a small change in timings could result in a 13% performance gap. Even if this holds true to number crunching, I would still say this test is misleading because IIRC, most applications don't scale well with memory timings in C2D.
You can fix this issue.
Immunet, which uses the same engine as Panda, advertises itself as a supplement to the "main antivirus".
I have been using both antiviruses for a while and haven't noticed any weird behavior.
According to AV-Comparatives, MSE has a detection rate of only 97.6%. There are other free applications that got much better results: Avira (99.8% detection) and Panda (99.2% detection).

I use both Avira and Panda. I...
The deadly cancers thought to arise from cell phone usage do not happen "gradually". They will either happen or they will not happen. The question is whether cell phone usage increases their probability or not. We definitely know that driving a car will increase the probability of your death in...
Do you really believe those picowatts of microwave radiation that cell phones produce can remotely have any effect on the body? IMO, they at best can warm up your skin.
Would you stop driving if I told you that driving is proven to have potentially harmful effects i.e. accidents? Cell phone...
You might as well say quad core processors are rarely worth the extra cost over dual core processors. Read what I wrote again. RAM throughput is directly related to the processing power (e.g. encoding) and is never affected by hard drive performance.
The hard drive is indeed the slowest component in the computer, but this doesn't mean the system will be limited by its speed; that would be misleading. When you run an application, it gets loaded into the RAM which acts as a buffer between the CPU and the hard drive. As long the CPU is...
According to this review, DDR3-1600 RAM is actually significantly faster than DDR3-1333 RAM. The differences aren't that much pronounced, but remember the price difference between cheap DDR3-1600 RAM and cheap DDR3-1600 RAM barely amounts to 1% of the total cost of the computer...

There is no point in buying the HD6970. You can buy a 6950 and flash it. The success rate is very high, but even if it doesn't work you still got a very powerful card.
I think $235 is a little too much for AMD. For only $35 more, you can get this Sandy Bridge combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.575905
It is true it will not overclock, but I doubt the X4 955 will reach Sandy Bridge performance even when overclocked.
Anand from anandtech.com managed 4.4GHz on the stock cooler.

The cheapest HD6850 out there is $40 more expensive (more if we count MIRs) than the GTX 460 despite the small ~10% performance advantage it holds. I believe the OP would rather have a fast SSD or a better enclosure.
I don't see how the GTX 460 is not adequate for 1080p gaming. HardOCP reviews...
You can already get a GTX 460 for $120AR directly from newegg. If you are feeling adventurous, there's a Galaxy card at tigerdirect for $95 after a $60 rebate.
I disagree. The X4 640 is actually faster than the X3 450 by a significant margin in most applications. The only scenario the X3 450...
Inspired from Facemash, is there an applcation that:
1) Scans the pictures in a folder
2) Shows two random pictures and asks me to choose which one I prefer
3) The picture I prefer will be the winner and gets a higher rating (as in chess ratings), while the losing picture loses rating
4) Repeats...
I will be scanning a book with very fine prints, so I will need as much resolution as possible. I don't care about scanning speed or or colour accuracy. I'm only concerned about resolution.
