You don't really need 1000W, but I have never seen any problem with getting more than what you need. The flap about Corsair, is mainly about their lower priced units. The RMi, RMx, HXi and AXi series are all top notch. If you go with a single 980TI, a 650W would give you more than enough...

If you think that, then you obviously didn't read the reviews AMD expected the sites to announce it and market it for free. If they make the announcement without actually launching the hardware, then they open themselves up to that.

According to number [H] got, the 295x2 wasn't that much faster than 980Ti...can you even get teh 295x2 anymore...and if you can, can you get it for $650? From most reviews, the 295x2 was faster than 290x crossfire, so my guess is that there is not a big gap between 290x Crossfire and 980 Ti

The Small Form Factor Market has decided to build cases that fit full size cards. AMD has built a Tech Demo that they are offering up for sale. It only fits the niche of SFF builds that don't support full sized cards, in the niche of people that want SFF cases.

AMD won't cut off their nose to spite their face. If they have a competitive card they will send it to [H] for review. The audience they will reach is too big. I've heard even bad reviews have the potential to boost sales.

anandtech didn't even review a single R9 300 card...just called it a refresh. I wonder if they will get a Nano sample. HardOCP pointed out the 390X Strix was as fast as the GTX 980...but cheaper
