I've used both the HP and the LG. Both have similar problems with an inconsistent color(slight, but there) across the screen and pixel blurring. The HP seems to have slightly less blur and does not have the the backlight bleed that the LG appears to have. Otherwise, pretty much the same. All...
I had a 24" hp that had a scaler in it, and if I enabled vsync the input lag could potentially be very noticable. If I moved the mouse quickly I could sometimes see the screen still moving after I had stopped moving my mouse. That's input lag. In TF2 I did not notice the lag, until I got into a...
I have a spyder3 calibrator, and that manages the color profile for the monitor. I'm pretty sure that overrides everything being displayed as the custom software changes the entire look of the screen.
I'm not talking about backlight bleeding. When I ask what makes it better, I mean why do you think it is better color and picture quality... I'm looking to see where your opinion comes from and how hard you analyze things. From the sounds of it you don't nit pick the details. Also, you won't...
Do you notice the input lag caused by the scaler on the 3008? Does the better PQ outway the lag? What do you use your monitor for? Why do you think the picture quality and color are better on the 3008? What about them makes them better? Did any or all of them have non-uniform color/brightness?
Aside from the scaler and inputs, is the 3008WFP any different from the 3007WFP-HC? I'm a designer and I have had bad luck with these 30" monitors. Both the LG and the HP have poor color uniformity. The HP i have right now has a dark upper left corner and bright lower right. Do both dells have...
I suppose it's possible it's my 8800GTS having some weird issue with that high resolution, but I'm not sure why it would.
Does your LP3065 also have a dark and bright corner?
something I've noticed now after using this monitor today is that the pixels don't smear as much as the LG did. I noticed on the LG a pretty good amount of smearing, but the HP does not smear near as much. It has a kind of jitter to it, but I think it's better than the full smear.
Just got my HP LP3065. So far I notice the same issues as I had with the LG. The top has a darker tint than the bottom, I'm starting to think it's how they apply the anti-glare coat. But more than that, the top right corner is darker than the bottom left. Most noticeable on an all white screen...
Both panels have their downs and ups. From what I've read the IPS has more pros for what I want it for than the PVA does. Saturation of colors is all about the calibration. I have a color calibrator so the colors will be fine without tint, unless there's a defect. If you know how to calibrate...
I think the text issue may have more to do with how the H-IPS technology works. I personally didn't see fuzzy text in the strictest sense, but since the whole image seemed to have a very screened look, I assume due to the rigid structure of H-IPS pixels, I think it makes the screen hard to look...
I've decided I'm going with the HP LP3065. I had the LG and was not all that happy with it so I figure why do it over again. The dell seems to have a mixed response from people. Some love the dells, others don't or have issues with them. For the most part the HP's have positive responses and...
I tried calling dell to find out if it would be possible to turn off the scaler in the 3008WFP. Their tech support is laughable. Some guy who can't speak english reading off a list of questions without even being able to understand what I am actually asking. I told him that I don't own the...
I actually just called them to find out for sure and the 30" monitors are covered by 3 year. My mistake. Apparently what warranty you get depends on what monitor you get.
You sure about that? Check out the bottom of the refurbish monitor page where it says: "Did you know All Refurbished Dell Monitors come with a 90 day warranty?"
http://www.dell.com/content/products/category.aspx/monitor?c=us&cs=22&l=en&s=dfh
All of their new monitors come with a three year...
I can't decide what I should go for. I don't know if the HPs and Dells have a better build quality than the LG or not. The LG has a 5ms(gtg) response listed in specs that would seem to be better than the others, but maybe the others have a better build quality. I know the LG I had, had some...
yea I am... Too bad we can't try them out for ourselves. Be careful with those outlet items. They only come with a 90 day warranty. Anything happens after 90 days and you're out of luck.
I'd love to try them if that were possible. No stores carry 30" monitors.Lots of people say they don't notice any input lag, but I have 24" LCD that I'm returning and I can quite easily see the lag. I think a lot of people just don't notice it.
I wonder what e-ips really is. I have a 24" hp LP2475W that's an H-IPS that I will be returning. It's actually very hard to look at. has a screen door feeling i can't get past.
I actually don't know anything about that monitor. I have a 24" H-ips that i'm returning though. The monitor has a very screen door like feeling that bothers me. I'm returning it. I don't know if all H-IPS has this or not.
doesn't matter. Input lag just means how long it takes for you to see the movement you just made. if you're movements aren't time sensitive, it won't matter.
I've used the LG W3000H, but I ended up returning it due to a weird issue where the bottom had a greenish tint and the top had a redish tint. I thought this might have been a defect with just my unit, but I've found through research lots of monitors using LG panels experience this problem. It...
Anyone who has this monitor, do you know a kind of screen door like effect? I have the HP LP2475W monitor that uses an H-IPS panel, and I find it very distracting as the grid of pixels is very apparent. I actually bothers me quite a bit. Does the 2209WA share this trait?
They are really sharp. I almost want to rebuy it... but I'm going to stick with this one I guess. Like I had posted a bit earlier, apparently the H-IPS is known to look more pixelled than other technologies. "to some people"... I guess I'm one of those people. From what I've read it has to do...
i actually got an email from someone at TFT central that explained to me that the H-IPS panel in this monitor is probably responsible for the pixelation I'm seeing... That's upsetting. now I don't know what to do. Thought about trying out a dell 2408 but they charge a restocking fee for returns..
Well I definitely saw a difference. The 30 was much sharper, but atleast I know that all 24" models will be like this and they appear to be better than a smaller 22. I think you'd be surprised just how much of a difference it makes. I'm a stickler for detail so it jumped out at me right away...
I just purchased the HP LP2475W monitor, and I have noticed that it seems like the pixels are very visible to me. By this I mean it almost looks like the pixels are fairly large so I can easily see the squares on curved lines. Before using this monitor I was either using a CRT or a 30" LG...
