The scary part for me is that so many recently bought from newegg reviewed it as DOAs. Makes me think I'm next!!! Might of just been a bad batch. Huh.

To be honest, I don't think I need to SLI. A single 670 is quite a beast for my 1080P display. And I seem to just keep upgrading anyway.

I think with double spaced arrangement two of these top 670 gpu from asus would be fine, with the right case and fans. Never had SLI or crossfire before.

Cooling and card design should be exactly the same product the only differences is the binning. They're both direct touch 2 etc.

Well I decided I needed the ivy bridge transcoding improvements, and the heat might make for a good reason to proper water cool my system. Bought a 3770K from micro center for $307 including tax.

What's a realistically cool running 3770K overclock going to be? Versus what people can get on the 2700K on average?

Is Ivy $50 better when you factor in the temps? I can try to hit 5.0 in Sandy, seems like I'd be lucky to hit 4.5 on IVY, sure the clocks pack a bit more CPU punch with IVY, but the heat IVY generates seems to bring these two CPUs a bit closer to performance parity when over clocked. Of course...

The best price on a 3770K seems to be $350 delivered, btw, and I feel like I'm paying more just for TIM instead of fluxless solder.

Plus just looking at pricing, the $200ish 2500K is still most attractive. I'm not seeing many reasons to go ivy bridge. I might get the 2500K and avoid the thermal interface issue and just go all out on the Haswell platform. Then get the $200ish Maximus V Gene and you have a bargain I think.
