Yea I like those too. But I like the GTs a bit more. Might use the Noiseblockers if I go for the Lian Li B10FN instead of the V750. The B10FN is nicely updated and features a split dual removable HD cage, very friendly towards long GPUs, and it's a more silent case to boot.
This should be my...
I could probably start looking for a good 140 mm fan it's just hard to trust them as the reviews are confusing and sparse can you recommend any? The only thing I know is you can't go wrong with the GT fans.
I researched all week, still no better case for me than the PC-V750WX. I might reverse mount an aftermarket window, so that it's mounted from the inside.
Building the rig from the ground up with the Lian Li PC-V750WX. I hope it comes out soon. Bought my Intel 3770K Ivy Bridge CPU, and six GT AP-15 fans plus a Corsair H80 CPU Cooler. Trying to locate a Asus DirectCU2 GTX 670 Top Edition GPU. Waiting for Asus to release that ROG Maximus V Formula...
It took me hours to bus there from Philly! But not all day. Guess it was worth it, my standard bus pass paid for it. Dam thing goes out of stock on both newegg and amazon this weekend anyway.
So I called nyetex, they say they have been around for 5 yrs, small company, reseller for asus, claims legit with 14day return policy, I believe but when I call asus and ask he was unsure but says dont't trust it to be safe. Shame cus they have 15x 670 asus top editions left :(
And they're...
I think with double spaced arrangement two of these top 670 gpu from asus would be fine, with the right case and fans. Never had SLI or crossfire before.
After an extensive Internet search for the asus GTX670-DC2T-2GD5 top 670 card, I found a few places that had it listed for under $450, i wont even consider over that, but none I ever heard of or trust, bout the closest one i trust was J&R $450 preorder, not sure if that's the answer, much rather...
Can anyone tell me if the Asus 670 GTX Top is worth waiting for over the regular one with the same fancy cooling? I have a 420 dollar Asus Non-Top on order, but I can cancel. My system is not done, so as long as I can get it within the month or so for a reasonable price, like that 430 dollar...
I came to the same conclusion actually. And a PS Vita for portable games. If they ever actually make any games for that system... Right now it's the Uncharted: Golden Abyss machine. OK wipeout is cool too.
Other than mounting the fans on top of the case, the trick seems to be getting the eight pin power connector to clear the H100, depends on the mobo maybe?
Well I just ordered a 3570K Ivy Bridge CPU, guess I'm building a desktop! Lian Li needs to release this V750 so I can get started. And Asus needs to release that Maximus V Formlula, and MSI needs to make some more N680GTX Twin Frozer III cards. I swear I'm always waiting on something.
Was shopping on Newegg just to confirm the price, and did anyone else note that both the Seasonic Platinum models have quite a few recent user reviews complain of DOA or product failure soon after install? This may be a small percentage and all, but just in case I think I'm headed back to the...
Well I decided I needed the ivy bridge transcoding improvements, and the heat might make for a good reason to proper water cool my system.
Bought a 3770K from micro center for $307 including tax.
Is Ivy $50 better when you factor in the temps? I can try to hit 5.0 in Sandy, seems like I'd be lucky to hit 4.5 on IVY, sure the clocks pack a bit more CPU punch with IVY, but the heat IVY generates seems to bring these two CPUs a bit closer to performance parity when over clocked. Of course...
Oh and I want the best overclock to a nice temp friendly (quiet on fans) stable 24/7 stable speed. Will be using a Lian Li PC-V750 case with GT AP-15 fans + Fan Controller, and a H80 CPU Cooler. So that's why I think I might be better off with a 2700K over a 3770K, but I worry about losing...
I was thinking of buying a 2700k for $300 delivered. First, is that a good price, second do I lose native USB-3 on a Z77 board (by not choosing IVY Bridge)? Planning in the Asus ROG Maximus V Formlua or Gene. Are there any issues with this plan and what else do I lose? I assume PCI-3 is pretty...
Plus just looking at pricing, the $200ish 2500K is still most attractive. I'm not seeing many reasons to go ivy bridge. I might get the 2500K and avoid the thermal interface issue and just go all out on the Haswell platform. Then get the $200ish Maximus V Gene and you have a bargain I think.
I'm trying to decide if IB is worth it even with this "Handycap". On a laptop no question, IB, the power savings and GPU performance are worh it, and your not going overclock due to heat constrained laptop designs. However on a desktop? SB is still very appealing with lower heat and same if not...
This situation with Intel ruins my Ivy Bridge plan. Now I'm leaning towards Sandy Bridge. Can I use the Asus Maximus Gene V with a 2700K? What exactly am I losing out on in that scenario? I will still have native USB three and native sata three right? With integrated graphics HDMI out as a back...
So if I want to run say the following:
Maximus V Gene
One 680 GTX non overclocked
A moderate overclocked Ivy Bridge 3770K
One Blu Ray Burner
One SSD
4 x HDs
7 x GT AP-15 Fans
Fan Controller
Sound Card
Would I buy the Seasonic 860W Platinum or the Seasonic 1000W Platinum? I'm buying one of the...
