Seems incorrect based on: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/gameplay/article/decommissioning-of-online-services-for-older-ubisoft-games-october-2022-update/000102396
If you're going to refute it, please provide a link.
What is this argument even about? Let me make it simple again.
Many DLC for SINGLE PLAYER Assassin's Creed (and more) games are being REMOVED.
It is not a hardware limitation and we are on the same OS as it is currently still working on. It is just theft.
I can still play my floppy disk that...
Bending display is freaking awesome. I have a good use case for that. Bend = Desk work Non Bed = My recliner right behind my chair. (Already doing this with my aw38dw21)
That is definitely cool.
It's social media, they don't give a damn, and all have the same problem. Tons of bots, lots of doxxing, lots of spyware, and operates like a hatebox certain to get you outraged after reading it. Oh. And some of them have upvotes to make some people chase popularity.
Yeah, ok. This is supposed to be an enthusiast forum, not a defeatist forum.
Sorry for tinkering, I guess I should just be happy with ads all over my face, and using popular streamers that transcode for me, like Netflix, and a sluggish UI experience that degrades over time before of bloatware...
As I posted elsewhere:
unless you're willing to go in with ADB and clean up 60 packages of trash, this device gets bogged down by pointless google/nvidia bloat and becomes borderline unusable. Every update past 8.x.x has made it less stable and fast.
That said, with the slimmed down...
I like how some people can be against this.
Just blows my mind; it's like you need to unleash some inner problem with authority out on everything.
How about we stop filling South America and Asia with useless trash like 5 types of cellphone charging cables, and stop giving companies money for...
I mean, if they don't already buy it at that price, they're probably waiting for any of the new display technologies at this point anyways.
Also, is a C1 really even better than a CX? Or is it smart TV shit, which is worth less than zero. I think that's why this isn't a good deal, because the...
With mini-LED and QD OLED and WOLED on the horizon I expect this trend of downward price pressure to continue.
Edit:
I can respect that at least you are honest about burn-in.
Didn't go so well in the last OLED thread...
What can't Windows 11 do (for far cheaper and better with custom builds) that MacOS can exactly? ...
Couldn't you argue that you make $$ to work on a Windows machine, thus making your point moot?
Sure, but what are you paying for then? Why buy this GPU if you can't game? Why compare it against gaming GPU's?...
IMO it's kind of a silly thing to say after it gets crushed in a benchmark it said it could compete in.
Then again, the mental gymnastics of paying 2x the price for hardware so...
And just as much you discredit 'fear mongering' about OLED burn in, I hate to say it but I have experienced OLED burn in in less than a year. I ran pixel flippers, disney calibration, bla bla. Still happens. No, I didn't leave it only on one window, it just happened that the last game I played...
I do not.
I typically only turn on HDR when playing games because on the desktop it looks a bit washed out in general.
On github there's a tool "AutoActions" which does this automatically, fwiw, it's nice.
Hey all,.. kinda crazy some people have already lost their displays... Mines going strong.
Anyone install W11 2022-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 x64 (KB5008353)?
For me, this washes out the non-HDR colors. I had to pull it.
The fact that this simple obvious concept is able to be patented, is a complete joke and everything wrong with how patents work in the USA. ( I don't own either device, I just think it's funny )
Meh.. the FFVII remake was lukewarm, and the last game they had that really was worthwhile was FFVII... >20 years ago.
I'm just going to continue buying games that I play for fun, not made by SE.
NFT's are a joke. Ubisoft tried this recently and got clapped.
Due to CV-19, I don't think anyone is going to the movies like they used to, so no matter what, it's not fair to say any money is left on the table. Don't see this trend reversing, and why should it, when a LG OLED looks better anyways, and we're only on MU in the greek alphabet.
Also, another...
lol, it's really embarassing.
Everything is a brace or a bracket.
The RAM is next to eachother, the CPU has a gallon of paste on it, and the radiator was mounted without fans.
Is this for real? Never reading the Verge for anything again - not that I did to begin with.
This is a bad update. I've had AutoHDR since March on W10 Insider, and it works well, but it isn't Special K or anything; and it existed before W11, so its not a W11 feature. The DX12 api enhancements will be great.. until you realize DX12 is a buggy mess and it has to be implemented in each...
I don't disagree with the fact they can still get aggregated data on you at all.
But if you don't fight, they get MUCH MUCH MUCH more.
Stay off big tech's API sharing clusterfuck by not using accounts there, and using duckduckgo when you can, etc.
Stuff like pihole+unbound without a VPN can...
Demand is falling away from "Sky High"
In EU, prices are crashing because scalper businesses are undercutting themselves as the stock has been sitting there for weeks.
Same will happen here. May take until late '21.
When stuff can stay in stock, prices will start crashing, and MSRP will be...
Relying on cloudflare or any other DNS while using firefox is kinda like going 2 steps forward 4 back. Even with dns over https without something like unbound, you're just shifting the trust around instead of clipping the data.
Why use FF over any chromium? Privacy.
Not using unbound + pihole...
Dang, that thing looks like a beast. Kind of a bummer you can't do 4:4:4 with it. Kind of gives me pause at whether this idea is the right one for me because it sounds like that would happen with this display too.
Anyone running this beast through a KVM and getting 120 Hz 10bit with no negative effects? I know there's been some issues about this display being picky about the cable being used?
I am considering a hard decouple into a rPI for a Remote work setup where the VPN cannot escape a VLAN, since...
Somehow "its not a TV" turned into "All my inputs can have a different setting.".... How is that not circular? Who else is using multiple inputs except people who'd use it like a TV?
sRGB isn't that useful unless you don't use HDR. Which, even if it's an "echo" of what it should be like, it's...
FTA:
It is about HDR. The reality is that if you don't use HDR with this display, you might as well get something 1000$ cheaper. Thus, 175 Hz is useless unless you like having 8 bit colorspace HDR translation. So, yeah, no HDMI 2.1, this is just a more expensive version from a less reliable...
If you want to make use of the 175 Hz, and 10Bit, you do.
Which, basically nullifies any advantage this display has over the one in this thread. I personally dont use 144 Hz over 10 bit, as it is, so going 175hz isn't going to change anything. Especially with an HDR display.
In addition to Signal, which is based on the open whisper protocol, which is OS, there's also Telegram.
If you want, you can deploy your own docker image, like
kayvan/signal-cli
Then you're not trusting anyone to manage your keys, and good luck ever having anyone spy on that.
lol, that trailer didn't even capture my attention for 2 seconds. Oh how far this franchise has fallen.. Gameplay footage is too much to ask for?
I miss the good old days of Desert Combat, not this ultra high-paced ultramodern tornado explosion crap.
