Upgrading GTX 1070 soon but was also going to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM. Currently have 2x4 sticks from when I built my system 3-4 years ago and was wondering if I should just buy the same set again linked before or just get a whole new 2x8 set?

I'm in the same boat right now. Right now the 2420Z is $300 on Amazon and the 2430T is $380 and I don't want to spend the extra $$$ if it's not worth it.
Looks like I am going to choose between selling my 7970 and going with a 970 or 390/x or buying a new 280/x to crossfire. Reading about some crossfire issues with project cars is concerning though since I've been playing it quite a bit along with Dirt Rally.
I am currently looking at upgrading my GPU in my system and was wondering what my best options are. I have a Sapphire 7970 3GB OC w/ Boost right now and was looking into either doing crossfire with a 280x or replacing it with a 970/300 series. If I wanted to do crossfire could my current PSU...
Currently in the market for an IPS monitor for ~$300. Will be using this for casual gaming, movies, and browsing.
Looking at 24-27" and 1080p to keep the price down. ASUS MX279H is at the top of my list right now and is for $250 on Amazon.
I remember reading about Korean IPS monitors being...
Has it been on sale at $300 or is that the MSRP? I was planning on snagging this with some gift cards later but i don't want to wait and have it jump up to $450.
Really don't like the always online and kinect crap. Don't buy many console games so used game fee doesn't matter to me as much. Seems that you can still play your games you buy on another box if you use your login. Pretty used to this with PC/steam gaming.
Will still probably buy for Forza 5...
Going with the Antec P280. It looks like I didnt act fast enough on the power supply on amazon. Its in stock at newegg for the same price. Still worth it on Newegg or is there a similair deal on amazon?
I just upgraded my computer and I have a bunch of spare parts that Im going to use on a build for my Dads birthday. My Dad plays strategy, RPG, and FPS games. Ill be getting him Civ 5, AoE 3, Starcraft 2, Skyrim, and some older CoD games. I need a case, power supply, DVD drive and monitor for...
I changed my mind after seeing how the 8350 performs in Planetside 2 where I was hoping to see a nice performance bump with a CPU upgrade. That and the fact I am already getting new RAM and after researching, I have concerns with overheating using my current motherboard when overclocking the...
As long as I can use the same settings and the difference in frames isn't too large I am ok with saving some $$$.
Well, I am aiming for ~4.4GHz for an over clock so hopefully my 212+ is enough for that. Power is not a huge issue unless I had to upgrade my PSU if I decided to add another 7970.
Although it was a worthwile upgrade, my OC'ed 955 is bottlenecking my 7970 in some games. I'm going to upgrade to either a FX 8350 with my current mobo in my sig or a 3570k before I start overclocking my 7970. I'm not sure whether a 3570K is worth a new mobo/ram.
Right now I am running the rig in my sig. I recently upgraded from a 5870 to a 7970 but I can tell my OCed 955 is bottle necking me in a lot of the games I play. I was planning on upgrading to a 3570k instead of waiting for Haswell but I found out that my motherboard will support a FX 8350 with...
Just finished installing it a few hours ago and put in some time on BF3 and Far Cry 3. I have not tried to overclock it yet. Stock the core is at 950MHz/1.025V and the memory is at 1425MHz. Before in Battlefield 3 I was only able to play on High with 2x MSAA at 1080p without HBAO and got about...
Hey guys, thank you for all the responses! I've narrowed it down to a few different cards.
Sapphire 7950 w/ Boost $330
Sapphire 7950 Vapor-X $380
Sapphire HD 7970 OC with Boost $390
I will be overclocking as high I can go. I guess my big question now is if the extra $50-60 is going to show...
I'm in the market for a new 7950 and don't have a great idea on which one to get. I have a 955 @ 3.7 and play at 1080p so im not sure what kind of bottleneck i'll have in the games I play. Currently I mostly play BF3 and SC2 but also Far Cry 3, Skyrim and plan on purchasing some of the newer FPS...
