I have an XFX GTX280 that is still running in a SLI setup that my son uses every day. That card has seen 3 years+ of solid use in at least 4 different machines... Great warranty, great products, what is not to like about XFX?
Hey guys, got together all the parts to build my oldest son a new rig, and turns out the motherboard is too big to put into the case we have (Bitfenix Colossus). He decided he would rather have a videocard upgrade, so the new parts for his rig need to go.
I would prefer to sell everything...
Yeah, thank goodness I got the last of the Asus VW266H 25.5" 1920x1200 monitors that were out there... Working wonderfully in NVSurround @ 6070x1200...
Really sad that just about no-one is making these anymore...
I will reconfirm that you need to replace the thermal material under the main heatsink with a decent aftermarket paste. Dropped temps into the 50c range. I got a new one, not a refurb, but it has performed excellently.
My son it running this setup with the first slot a GTX280, next two...
Damn that sucks!
Yeah, I got real lucky with my VW266Hs... No dead/stuck pixels on any of them...
That was probably the biggest issue that kept me from ordering them over three or four months ago... I just couldn't take the chance that I would get ones with dead/stuck pixels and then have...
Actually, with NVSurround and running the Matrox Powerdesk software, most of the maximize/monitor utilization issues are a non-issue. Maximizing to a single screen works great, etc...
I will agree tho, that nVidia needs to get profiles done properly so that it actually utilizes Win7s...
Nope, it was a couple of bad power supplies (one was a BFG ES-800 that had too high of ripple)... I run almost always SLI/Crossfire setups, so it is usually more than one card in the machine at a time when things go pop...
Haven't had a single problem since I started buying well researched...
I have three of these in NVSurround myself and they are GREAT looking monitors...
Looks like I may have gotten the last three available, as they were out of stock after my order (ordered from SuperBiiz.com), and I haven't been able to find them anywhere else for a buddy that saw my setup and...
After having lost at least 3 or 4 video cards and 2 motherboards over the past few years, I can say, if I were in your shoes, I would replace the power supply. No question about it.
In all cases, the voltage regulators are what popped on the video cards and the motherboards I lost. After you...
Umm, honestly, after using my 3 x 25.5" Asus VW266H setup for a week, I would even have to say that a 3 x 28" setup would be too wide to be truely useful...
Hell, I do a lot of panning sitting back 3-3.5ft from my setup... They are all landscape with a combined res of 6070x1200...
Great...
And I believe this sums up the sentiments of those of us that actually use computers and don't just play games... 1920x1200 16:10 is preferred over 1920x1080 16:9.
Again, that is what this thread started with.
I just bought a set of three Asus VW266H monitors at the beginning of this month. Got them in at the beginning of this week and couldn't be happier. No stuck/dead pixels on any of them. Backlight bleed is almost non-existent (at least compared to my Samsung 2443BWX), with only a hint at the...
Also, if I may add, that Ducman, you came in here telling others to only buy 1080p displays, when the whole POINT of the thread was to discuss 1920x1200 16:10 displays.
Which, since you admitted you already bought a 30" 16:10 display, are you actually telling others not to make the same kind...
Ducman, you obviously are trying to twist things around to save face. THAT is your only objective here...
The fact of the matter is no-one, I mean no-one with any sort of reasoning skills could care less if the black bars in letterbox are part of the actual signal or inserted via the...
Ok, so, I lose vertically used screen space when using a 1080p reolution, so what, @ 24.8" it is still larger than any 24" display, so, I loose exactly how???
You are soo stuck on 16:10 loosing out somehow... That is not the case...
Hell, I could say, since I can run a 6070x1200 resolution...
If I may add, here is some EXCELLENT reading for Ducman:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letterbox
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anamorphic_widescreen
You will notice that letterboxing only refers to the adding of black bars above and below. Anamorphic refers to the distorting of...
Yeah, I figured it was a worthless endeavor to even attempt to buy 2 more "perfect" ones online... I can only imagine the number of RMAs and headaches... Not to mention the sheer hemmoraging of money to do it...
I ended up buying 3 Asus VW266H monitors instead. All three are perfect. Plus...
Well, back to the topic at hand...
I got in my Asus VW266H monitors today... Got lucky, no dead pixels or imperfections on any of them...
SuperBiiz.com did a great job packaging them, and two were sequential serial numbers with the third a couple digits away... Colors match great and it...
Wow... can I have the past 20 minutes of my life back catching up on this thread???
Fact of the matter is, 16:10, ie, 1920x1200 is a necessity for anyone doing *WORK*. No, a lot of us do not need a IPS or any other exotic display, as TN will work just fine for us. TN also gives the...
