After reading this thread and some of the others for about a month, I decided to go with the planar. I figured it would be smart to pay a little more and go with CDW to be safe and I was right... after two returns, got one with no dead pixels and no light bleed. I'm a very happy camper to say...

Any non-TN panel will work for browsing and movies really IMO. I find IPS types like the planar, doublesight to be the best rounded choice.

I just picked up the Planar PX2611W last week after a month of research. It is pricey, but worth it. I'm very satisfied with my decision.
