Have you tried Color Sustainer? Edit: Nevermind.. this is for overclocking displays, not game specific.

    Elite: Dangerous

You can outfit a mining laser, so yes. I'm not sure how the economy works but everything is tied together. Over the past week of the beta all the prices have slowly equalized now that people can afford large cargo ships. But we're stuck with a ton of players in a pretty small chunk of space...

GIGABYTE GTX 780 GHz Edition Video Card Review

It's factory overclocked.. so yeah, you will not have as much headroom to OC. I have only experienced coil whine while running Futuremark, but I guess it could happen with certain games. The rattling fan noise sucks.. I was able mostly eliminate it by tightening the screws on the fans, but...

    Anyone using TrackIR?

Yeah, the biggest problem was looking backward in the aircraft. If you keep it forward facing like in a racing game or arma I think it's a pretty ingenious piece of kit.

    Anyone using TrackIR?

I had a TrackIR 2 when that version came out. I could never get it setup to my liking. It was great for racing games because I could lock the movement down to 30-45 degrees left and right. But In flight sims it was just too wild to control, especially to 'check my six', and it never felt...

    Elite: Dangerous

We support the game and get access to an old alpha build to look at. I honestly will probably not touch it again until trading is implemented, and that may be just as a test also. I'm not sure how the access details work out but it seems the original alpha backers get the most current game...

Did anyone pick up the premium beta this weekend? I decided to give it a try and it feels really solid, even with the older 1.1 build.

    quietest card for 1440p gaming?

I have a 780 GHZ Edition that recently replaced a 6970. It was a pretty remarkable improvement in case noise. I can not answer whether it would be acceptable to you or not however. The card will whine when running Ice Storm, but I have not noticed it during normal gaming. The card did tend...

    27" QNIX QX2710 Evolution 2 impressions

This may be known.. but it was a bit of a surprise to me. I upgraded my 6970 to a GTX 780. I could only do 110hz with the 6970 before seeing horizontal lines on the display. The GTX 780 does 120hz without issue with the same DVI cable.

Oculus Rift DK2 on order, Now I need good sound

My wife has a set of 990's at her computer.. I totally agree they are decent headphones. They are very technical sounding to me however. If someone was to use them for gaming they would need to use Dolby Headphone or a spatializer of some sort. (It may come down to whether one prefers...

Oculus Rift DK2 on order, Now I need good sound

The DT880 and DT990 are pretty neutral sounding headphones with a distinct lack of any spatialization (drivers are not angled, etc.). They are decent headphones, but I would not recommend them for someone wanting a 3d sound stage. Edit: Just did a little more reading on the subject. Some people...

    Skyrim Washed Out

There is one instance where you help an NPC and something goes wrong resulting in a shader effect being applied to your screen for an amount of time. This is kept with the save game, so perhaps it's similar in nature. (best guess) One would think there would be a console command to remove the...

    Skyrim Modding Megathread

Yeah, it can be bad sometimes. I disabled FXAA and I'm using 2x MSAA, it's given me a bit of headroom with the FPS, but not much. You can also try the following in enbseries.ini [EFFECT] EnableAmbientOcclusion=true (change to false for better fps) [SSAO_SSIL] UseIndirectLighting=true (change...

    Skyrim Modding Megathread

The fast SSAO setting is of minimal impact, it's a bit hard to see a difference with it sometimes. I'm still messing with it. Here's a picture of my current settings, using Realistic Lighting w/o pp, the ENB files from Realistic Skyrim HD, and SkyBoost R3 as my proxy library (that may screw...

Here is my current 2.0 FXAA Usersettings.h. My intent was slight color desaturation and a more contrast in dark areas. Some of this may come down to monitor type and/or calibration, so adjust if needed. full resolution image link injFxaaSettings.h #define USE_ANTI_ALIASING 1 #define...

    Skyrim Modding Megathread

You can tone the FXAA injector settings down. Here are a before and after with my current settings, with sharpening completely disabled. FXAA disabled, FXAA enabled The effects used are bloom, technicolor, and tonemap. It's not for everyone but it makes it more moody/creepy IMO.

    Skyrim Modding Megathread

+1 I've found ENB is only good if you like taking screenshots. I tried it for Skyrim and it murdered my fps. The FXAA injectors works and looks better IMO, aside from the mouse movement (I have the object fade slider at 1, everything else maxed and it works fairly well)

    Sony pfr-v1 headspeakers

I used the PFR-V1 a few years ago.. they are decent if you can get them for $100 or so, but they have some holes in frequency response that hold them back. Sound stage is the best feature, detail is lacking across the spectrum. Aside from the wacky look they have nothing in common with the...

Cysis 2 DX11 and Sandbox Update

I started playing through the SP again last night with the new patch. Dx11 and the various other updates look amazing, especially the volume and the detail of the explosions and the reflections in the environment. The performance is a bit slow at times (so maybe a little tweaking is in order...

    Brink, thoughts?

After I solved my ATI problem (I was overheating and getting either a CTD or BSOD) I was actually able to spend some time with the game. I went through the challenges first and that seems to be the best way to get introduced to the game, it's a small controlled environment, not as wild as the...

    Recommend me a headphone DAC

The only low impedance phones I have are a pair of Ultrasone HFI-680 and Audio Technica ATH-ESW10. Both of these pick up pretty much every buzz/hum my computer makes when plugged into the Forte. Even just at the desktop I get tons of noise. I'm not sure if this is your problem, but I was...

    Recommend me a headphone DAC

I have a Forte (modified w/ LT1364) and it is a bit fickle, and downright unlistenable on low impedance phones (AH-2000 are probably the worst headphones to use with this card). It really requires higher impedance headphones to get over the buzz. For a DAC I've been quite happy with the...
