Would going from a 2500k at 4ghz to a 5670 improve GTA5 performance at 2560x1440? Running a gtx970

I have a p6t deluxe v2 on the way with an x5670. Will I need to do a bios update before it will be functional? Also can I run ecc memory? It's cheaper and i want to run 3 x 8gb sticks

Dell xps 1366 motherboard and an x5670 for $200. Is that a good deal? I currently run a 2500k at 4ghz. Mostly just play gta 5. Will I see any added performance?? I'm running a crappy biostar p67 and gta crashes at 4.5 ghz even though it's IBT stable

Supposedly this is the V2 which has a non ref PCB and better power phase lending to more stability. Can anyone who owns this card comment on the reliability? I am hesitant to buy because I had a reference 290 that I returned because it would crash/reboot my system when gaming (due to temps)

What is the difference between the L series and the X series? Example: L5640 vs X5650? They are roughly the same price and clock speed, same cache, etc. Also, what is the best x58 motherboard to use with these processors? Trying to hit 4ghz+

How do ya'll compare it to gaming on the PC? I really like playing PC games and have never gotten into console gaming with the exception of sports games. I just find it difficult to shoot weapons on a controller. What are ya'lls thoughts? Seriously thinking of picking this up with a PS3 for $249...
