I have an NVidia 9600GT card and connected my LG via HDMI, and still it was not centered properly. I did that inf edit thing but I see that you have a different card. Uh, I think maybe you were intending to say "trying VGA as a last ditch" ?
So, I think if all else fails you should upgrade...
I tried PC mode for PS3 and it actually just shifts the image over to the left... not sure if it shrunk it down to 1:1 pixel mapping (aside from shifting it to the left, thus giving you a big black bar on the right side).
So guys I have a new problem...
I noticed that if I connect a PS3 or Sony Blu Ray player to this monitor via HDMI, you can ge 1080p, but it is OVERSCANNED!!!
I noticed this because I tested out The Nightmare Before Christmas Blu Ray on a Samsung HDTV and there were black bars on the sides...
Jordan1, your problem could have been fixed by doing that registry edit (I think; I've never tried it) or by editing a certain file in the folder that the the NVidia drivers extract to before installing them.
Anyway I'm glad you switched to ATI and got your monitor working, because when I...
Okay, my final purchase, I think, is an LG Flatron 246WP-BN. 24 inches, 1920x1200 (but I can play games at 1680x1050 at 1:1 pixel mapping and it looks great and is not too small at all), P-MVA, no noticeable input lag (it's on average 22 ms I believe), 8 ms, scales everything I need accurately...
cross post... good monitor, i believe:

This happens to me and everyone, I think...
Hey, whatever you get, just look if they still sell glare guards that will fit your LCD monitor. Remember those? They're like these big glass panes that are like sunglasses that you put over your monitor to reduce glare. It dims the overall picture...
Well for sure you know that the Doublesight has low input lag (this is different from response time), but it also has a gamut that is not 100% accurate with things that don't let you calibrate the colors. The HDTV will probably not have such a color inaccuracy problem, but you'll have to check...
Audio, eh? Hopefully your 360 has an option to output audio via those red and white plugs that are on your Xbox 360 AV cable. So basically you'd be using HDMI for the video, and the red and white plugs for sound (you plug it into a receiver or into the receiver for your computer speakers, if you...
Wow, that Hazro HZ23W seems rather slick. How is the input lag on it? The input lag seems to differ between models... so I'd like to hope that the input lag is better than the 24 inch version...
You can get a used Apple Cinema Display 20 inches or something on ebay for a decent price. Those use IPS panels... contrast ratio is 700:1 which may be a bit low, but IPS panels tend to have lesser contrast ratios than other panels.
Also, the Dell 2005WFP I believe is an IPS panel and has no...
(This quote is from page 4 of the thread)
Err, did Snowdog make a typo? So can you or can you not fix incorrect colors by desaturating? Err, I guess not. Oy, hunting for a good LCD is very frustrating.
You can get one with no webcam. It's listed somewhere in there... they have many models at the same size with differences among them, notably for me matte/glossy screens.
Be careful, I've heard the SP2208WFP has problems with blurry/splotchy text. And I would hold on to your Dell 2007WFP...
I see. Thanks a lot, guys. I saw a Sharp Aquos LC-26D43U at Costco the other day... it's a bit cheaper-priced than the Panasonic. The viewing angle seemed alright. Hmmmm. Although I realize that I'm currently running at 1024x768, and 1366x768 is only a small increase in resolution... that's both...
So, I'm still reading through the thread, but I think I'll take up some space with my questions...
1) Can the oversaturated colors be turned down by just lowering the RGB values?
2) Anyone have pics of the banding? If you remember seeing them in the thread, then just say so and I'll look...
Thanks a lot, King of Heroes.
Uh-oh... 1080p has banding!? Might make watching 1080p Blu-Ray movies a bit tough...
EDIT: Darn, I can't believe I didn't catch that part in that post. Looks like I was distracted by the pictures.
Option 1 looks confusing. It looks like it may work for non-ATI cards. It seems to be for going from DVI-I to component, but I'm not sure if it would work for component going to DVI-I.
There's also this thing http://www.hdfury.com/ works for DVI (analog? digital? does it matter?) to VGA...
Ruh-roh.
So can anyone answer my question? It was:
"Uhmm, does this monitor scale properly for Xbox 360 and PS3 games that are at 16:9? It should, according to the manual online, but I just want to make sure, because I got a monitor that would scale properly for PC but not for Xbox 360 or PS3."
Like I said, when viewing a TN panel straight on, it looks wrong anyway. So it doesn't look right at any angle. So something to make it look correct at one angle would be an improvement.
" Originally Posted by Bocephus View Post

I have a feeling he meant bars on the left and right sides, so it's possibly not 1:1 pixel mapping...
Hm, there's the LG 20LS7D
http://us.lge.com/products/model/detail/tv|audio|video_lcd%20flat%20panel__20LS7D.jhtml
It says "Super IPS" in the specifications.
Newegg has it...

A lot of the videos and photos I've seen of that are for when shifting the view from side to side. How is it for up and down? The same?
Also, when you look at a VA straight on, is it all correct, at least? With the TNs I've tried, the top half of the screen and the bottom half differ even...
4:3? With this particular combination of 2007WFP and PS3, you can't have it at undistorted 16:9? According to this http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/monitors/2007wfp/en/ug/setup.htm#Using%20the%20OSD there is an Aspect mode. Does it not work, or is your 2007WFP an earlier one that doesn't...
Hmm, y'know, I made this thread after I googled terms relating to it. Seems like there are scientific articles and patents on different methods for compensating for TN viewing angles. One link did have something for a real-time viewing angle compensation.
So, I'm to understand that when...
I had an HP w2007 (this and HP w2207 are pretty much the same except for the size).
It had two scaling options: "Fill to Screen" and "Fill to Aspect Ratio."
"Fill to Aspect Ratio" enlarged the image as much as possible while maintaining proper aspect ratio. So with Starcraft (4:3) it added...
Does such a thing exist? Even when looking at a TN panel straight on, the bottom appears brighter than the top.
Is there software that will darken the bottom part of the screen or lighten the top part of the screen so you get more screen uniformity?
I returned my w2007. Seems like it doesn't scale properly with Xbox 360... I got an official Microsoft VGA cable and tried it with all resolutions using "Fit to Aspect Ratio" and using the "auto adjust" function. The guy I quoted in this thread had a w2207 but it didn't scale properly with his...
