That one is quite simple. The less resistance to air flow the more air it can move, which equals better cooling. That is why aftermarket coolers that absolutely destroy reference coolers do so much better. They exhaust most of the heat into the case instead of trying to push it out a tiny vent.

It has the same bracket that every other manufacturer on the market has. They didn't have to give anybody the bracket. So yes they are "doing everybody a favor." Yes you can. Any 7970 can be Crossfired with any other 7970 or 7950. It doesn't matter if it is reference or aftermarket.

I cant answer for sure, but I am guessing that the 680 would win in BF3 because it is so VRAM intensive. Games that aren't VRAM intensive would probably be a different story. It also depends on what resolution you are playing at.

I am not saying the 680 will not win, but honestly these reviews don't mean anything until we can see what kind of overclocking headroom a 680 has. That test is comparing it to a stock 7970, which has a good bit of overclocking capability.

Judging by the performance it is getting on Ultra in reviews at that resolution, I would say it would probably be playing at High or Medium at that resolution. I wish reviews would show us how it performs on the lower settings.

If Kepler can do BF3 in Nvidia Surround on ONE card, I will probably go back to team green. If it can't be done on one card though I will probably go for the 7970. Do you guys think 2GB of VRAM is enough for surround on BF3 at 5760x1080 though?
