Performance is because the older is clocked so high and who the hell needs 4.4 clocked quad for an HTPC. A low cost new htpc build would be fine and you wouldnt notice a change.

1678 at 3.8 GHz. I used Ryzen master to do it. Haven't figured out bios yes to overclock my CPU at all. I'm sure there's something simple im missing to get it to even boot. Been running stock and still loving this thing but I came from an FX cpu.

I really don't see the problem. The chip is an 8 core 16 thread powerhouse. The Main boards are going to get bios updates. The boards are missing a lot of overclocking features. The 1080p gaming is strange but as single threaded CPU mark and cinebench show Ryzen strong. Then you have the 4 core...

What are you using to load up the cpu? What cooler? Those temps are safe but I would not want them while gaming. I can understand in something like Intel burn test.
