Hello mattycarroll,
Sorry to hear your GW2750 makes "websites look awful". I currently have a dual GW2750HM setup, running off intel GMA 4500MHD, one HDMI and VGA. I don't game so my experience is only from surfing, movies and office applications. For what I do they are good enough. I am...
Just a quick note to Canadians...Dell has it on sale for $229 till Feb 26 and std free ground shipping. But it says limit 1 and 1-2weeks before shipping.
Re: Canadians and $212?
I was able to pick 2 up at $220 each w/ free shipping during one of Dell's sales. I have been keeping an eye out to pick up a third but the lowest so far has been $270. I'm sure if one was really inclined, calling in would be best.
I was able to jump on the Canadian side when they had it for a little less than $250 at my door ($220 + tax & free shipping). So it is possible. It wasn't a one day deal, just in case you were wondering.
This is how i got mine to work:
- Plug both displays in first
- Start computer
- Go to Nvidia control manager
- Select "Set up multiple displays"
- select "configured independently from each other (DualView)"
- select what displays to use and which one as primary (i.e. usually the one...
I was thinking about getting the monoprice arms as I believe matrix563 in the "Show LCD setup" (page 715) has attached 24". Doesn't the attachment at the monitor end tilt and rotate? Also are there tightening screws?
I currently have the Ergotron LX holding my laptop. That thing is sturdy...
I've been cycling the display between my laptop (2nd display) and desktop (2nd display). No problems. Do miss the PIP feature on my old Gateway 2185W though.

I'm waiting to see what the dual and quad arms look like. The also have singles.

Thread is "M4" as for length you can always fill gap with washers or nuts. Not elegant but then again who's looking at it from behind. :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_Display_Mounting_Interface
Most wall mounts that support 30" lcds have VESA 100 (100mm) complient mounting holes max. The bracket will fit into this space. The ones that are VESA 200 (200mm) max will not as the bracket is bigger. However, you can get around this by buying longer screws (with the correct thread of...
matrix563,
How do you like the monoprice arms? I was thinking about getting them but wasn't sure about the build quality. Is there any flexing/sagging due to monitor weight? Are the joints easy to rotate or are they stiff. I'm curious because my bed is next to my desk and I like...
Turn your monitors on before the computer.
Assuming you have ATI Catalyst Control Center. From the ATI site: http://ati.amd.com/products/catalyst/multimonitor_Guide.pdf
Page 5 is the steps.
If that still does not work then try the following:
1. Test the Viewsonic by itself to...
Doing a quick google the only thing that comes up is a monitor stand (i.e. platform). From the tiny thumbnail, it looks like the monitors are pushed back on a shelf. There is a shelf above and below so I can't imagine monitor arm mounts or a pole attached back there. Then again I can be wrong.
Here's a photo.
Excluding the monitor and power cable, of course.
Dell website lists everything important. So they didn't mention the 2 foam pieces, the wrapping for the stand, the wraping for the monitor or the screen cover. Oh and if you're a small guy, the weight (w/ packaging) is...
Box dimensions: L x W x D = 23.5 x 17 x 8.75 inches
Definately won't fit in the mail slot :D
So after 1 week of use; I am a happy shopper. I picked up 2. My first monitor had one fussy green pixel. But after 20 min using JScreen Fix. The pixel has been fine since. So I dodged a bullet...
My best guess would be the added distance (be it short) the singal needs to travel from you computer to the receiver then to the speakers. Versus just computer to monitor/screen.
A friend of mine had a similar problem except it was with a cable box.
Video: cable box --> TV
Audio: cable...
Hello,
I just have a quick question in regards to the dual/quad mounts sold by cputopia via ebay and their webstore. The model numbers are the same respectively, but the picture of the attachment point to the pole are different. I was wondering if anyone got the one pictured on ebay...
I was thinking abut this very question just yesturday but with a brisbane 4000+. Good to hear that less than 65 is good. Mine idles at 55C and maxes at 62-63C runing orthos...but since running Cool n' Quiet with Power scheme at Minimal Power Management it idles at 40C.
I'll probably go with a 4830 or a 4850 (since price is coming down) for the following reasons:
1. can stick with the motherboard and use onboard graphics also
2. so when I upgrade later I can get either ati or nvidia onboards graphics :) or one with 2 PCIe x16 for both my old cards (hoping...
On the 3870x2, the thought of running 6 monitors down the line made me drool :) . But looking into the card it is too long/very tight fit (little over 10") in my Thermaltake Lanbox Lite. The thing is maxed with drives so I cant remove the drive cage to fit that video card. Being an engineer...
Unfortunately, I can't use some of the USB based video because I'll be running 22" (1680x1050).
I'm hoping my 690G onboard works the same way as the the 790GX. That way I'll only have to invest in an ATI graphics card (currently have a 8800GTS 640mb, hence no surroundview). Else, I'll have...
Thanks for the reply.
Option A, unfortunately doesn't work for me.
Option B, if I am reading it right, it will require me to buy 2 video cards plus a motherboard as my current one only has 1 PCI Express.
So, bottom line is there is no way to use the on board graphics with one card for...
I have M2A-VM motherboard (690G onboard graphics) and thinking about getting a 4800 series card for surround view of 4 monitors. Does anyone know if it is possible to setup the 4 monitors in a 2x2 configuration and have "full screen" on all 4 at once (i.e. each screen showing a quadrient) for...
:Shakes fists: Damn you Dell Canada :) got me in for 2.
PS - It's listed under "Home and Home Office" also. I didn't know and ordered through "Small Business". Hope they can consolidate my accounts later.
Edit - Only in "Home and Home Office" due to Mar 2-5 sale banner. Sorry for not...
Ahahah...so tempted to ask a friend south of the 49th parallel to get this for me. If anyone has yet to call can you ask Marcus if he can unoffically say when this promo might be over. Damn procrastinator that I am :)
Many thanks.
PS - anyone find a Marcus equivalent in Canada?
If your 3rd display is not that big and not too important then there are the USB to DVI/VGA devices (e.g. http://www.amazon.com/USB-To-Dvi-Graphics-Adapter/dp/B0011VJRLU )
Main factors are what resolution you require, what is the purpose of the 3rd dispaly and how much money you would like to...

I got the S-Series over christmas and ran into the same problem. Turns out in the manual it states not to use computer output (DVI) to TV's HDMI. My TV registers as a 1280x1024 native resolution then upscales to 1980x1020.
Then again the S has the least amount of features and functions...
I see alot of people have the logitech 5500 speakers with the computers next to the sub. Didn't the manual caution about placing harddrives close to the subs? Any problems yet? Just wondering.

Hello,
I have the exact monitor and currently running DVI from desktop (NV 8800) and VGA from laptop (ATI x700). I find that standard is better for both.
You can try the following:
1. Did you remember to click "Apply" after changing to standard as the "OK" just closes the Effects...
Wish I could get it at these prices... Benq Canada has it for $649 + $102.81 next day shipping only ... must be the foreign exchange and super white/ivory glove delivery. :(
hAppy,
what speaker stands are those and were they hard to mount the speakers...still searching for one for my back speakers.
Thanks,
dedo

As I am currently putting in the Enermax, I see that the power connector on the motherboard is 20+4 pins and my PS, being older, only has 20 pins. To clarify, I am not mixing this up with the +12V Power (4 pin ATX) that connects somewhere else.
Question, is the 4 pin accompanying the 20 pin...
It's good to know that I can still use the Enermax. As for the 8800 GTS addition, its not a sure thing. So I'll buy a new PS when that day comes.
I've had the PS since Dec 2002. Originally powering XP1800, 1GB ram, SB Live card, AIW 9600, nic, pci ide controller card, 8 hard drives, DVD...

I recently had to upgrade my computer due to my socket A motherboard dying on me. I would like to continue to use my Enermax EG365P-VE FMA (350W) (http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=7565&vpn=EG365P-VE(FMA)&manufacture=ENERMAX) as it is quiet.

Hey all,
Just picked this monitor up from BB Canada. Only one dead pixel but at the absolute top right corner (i.e. location 1,1). Did a visual check with Nokia Monitor Test. Read through the entire thread. I do have some questions about some of the issues that have been raised.
I do get a...
