Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to buy a complete system in the 1-1.5k range, potentially higher if its a good deal. GPU is less important to me than other system specs.
Let me know price shipped to Los Angeles area. Usually use non-CC PayPal, although we can work something else out if needed...
I guess you could rip the CD as an ISO twice (or from two different drives), and then get the MD5 hash of both of the ISO files. If any of the data was different, you would get a different checksum.
Hi all,
I have a few items I am looking to pick up. I can pay via Paypal, Amazon, or Google. Please quote prices shipped to 94024.
Heatware is under bholstege, all positive.
1) A set of 8/16/32GB DDR3 RAM, 2 or 4 sticks, at least 1333mhz.
2) A monitor with resolution higher than 1920x1200...
A bit of a long shot here, but if anyone has a Mac Pro or Power Mac case that has been modified for ATX or mATX motherboards, I would be willing to pay up to $200 shipped for one.
The 2880x1800 is exactly 4x as many pixels as 1440x900. This means that if you play a game at 1440x900 on a 2880x1800, you will have every 4 pixels on the screen displaying 1 pixel from the game, with 4x as many pixels per inch. This will result in exactly the same display quality as a 1440x900...
I'm considering using an HDTV as a computer monitor, and I am confused about what the refresh rate means. If a TV is advertised as being 120/240/600hz, does that mean that I could set it in windows to run at that refresh rate?
My understanding is HDMI doesn't have close to enough bandwidth to...
I'm doing it in Python.
It seems like 10 seconds should be reasonable then? If it needs 5 billion terms to get to 10 digits of accuracy, and we assume it takes 20 clock cycles to run and check a loop, then on a 3ghz machine we get 150 million terms a second, for a runtime of 33.3 seconds?
Hi everyone. I'm not at all an experienced programmer, so if this answer to this is obvious, I apologize.
I was writing a program to calculate the Liebniz series, which states that the sum of 1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 etc. equals pi/4. It is very slow - getting pi to 10 digits takes about 10...
I'm currently running an i5-750, and am looking to upgrade. Looking for a CPU+motherboard combo, don't need RAM or anything else.
Payment via non-CC paypal, Google, or Amazon. Heatware under bholstege, Ebay under braden.holstege.
Let me know what you've got.
Actually this represents a failure of capitalism in that prices were artificially set under the S/D equilibrium, causing a shortage of goods. Second market prices will eventually settle at the real equilibrium point for touchpad supply/demand.
Common wisdom is that other components such as the SATA controllers run on that bus, and overclocking it can cause data corruption over time.
I'm assuming you mean PCI-E, I don't know of any PCI-X graphics cards.
I've got an XFX 5850 brand new in box from RMA. AFAIK, these carry a double lifetime warranty for anyone who purchases it. I'm primarily looking to trade it for a SSD, but if you have other cool things to trade, send me an offer.
I would also sell it straight up for 190 shipped OBO.
This. I know an EE who worked on designing memory test machines - basically a faster automated memtest, although there are other signal quality checks etc. you can't do in software. I do not know if this is used by companies that do not produce their own chips, or what % of chips undergo testing.
Also the fan doesn't spin up to full when loaded, since it isn't near the thermal threshold. If you are worried about it you could up the fan speed in catalyst, although I honestly wouldn't bother.
The code is just a tight loop, although I don't know that the python interpreter can run totally in cache. I imagine memory access would be minor, and I'm not sure how to easily implement error checking on a memory stress function.
I'm basically doing md5(test string), then comparing that to...
So I noticed there was a lack of OCCT style error checking overclock tools in Linux, so I hacked together a python script to do some rudimentary stress/error checking.
Currently I'm using the MD5 and SHA1 functions to loop a test string, compare the result to the known correct answer, and...
It happens when I ALT-TAB to a chrome page on a second monitor. The browser is maximized but not full screen, no games are running.
EDIT: problem does not occur if I run the program with 1 monitor active, and it seems to work if I start it with 1 monitor plugged in, then plug in the second one...
Once in a while it gets past that screen, but it freezes during the intro to part 1 after about 30 second in game. It seems that clicking on windows outside the game while it is running will consistently cause it to stop responding.
Also pressing A to start didn't work. Had to press the spacebar.
Actually, you have been supposed to report online purchases on your state taxes. The new law just makes collection more streamlined.
Unless, of course, you have been cheating on your taxes this entire time.
The one included is bugged. I use the adrenaline benchmarking tool instead.

You can also use the bat file from the demo, code for which is below. Just paste it in a bat file in the bin32 directory.
@echo Running GPU Benchmark 1
@echo Type "quit" in...
My understanding is that DVI-D is electrically identical to the video signal of HDMI. I can confirm that HDCP works over DVI-D because I watch Blu-Ray movies on my computer over a DVI connection.
Hey all,
I'm trying to get GPG setup on my macbook pro, via GPGtools. I have the mail client working, but I'm mystified as to how one does stand alone file encryption. For windows then kleopatra client can do it quite well, but there does not seem to be a Mac equivalent.
Any ideas?
I have 4GB of 1333 DDR3, looking to upgrade. Want a minimum of 2x2gb at 1333, will take offers of higher density/speed.
Let me know price shipped to 94024. Heatware is under bholstege.
Thanks!
