Just recieved my Gainward 8800GT. Took my time to find any 8800GT in stock but I finally did! Now only 2 steps left... Flash and then replace my old one...
The thing is, my friend only has some time next week <_<
Well, the 640MB Geforce GTS here costs about 60€ (totaling ~290€) more and is worse... so yeah, I'll go with the 8800GT ;) (~230€)
And actually, the 8800GT has been beaten the GTS in almost all benchmarks I've seen... So it's not slower.
Perhaps... Ah well, I didn't have my hopes up anyways of being able to get it to POST... Guess I'll have to use my friend's computer then
Thanks everyone, you've made me not have to resort to:
1. a more expensive GPU
2. a cheaper but less powerful GPU
I wish Asrock could've done a greater job...
Are you sure? I have one VGA connector that is part of the motherboard (I checked and it it's REALLY part of it) so I thought it had on-board graphics? (I have a 775)
Well, it's probably not it so... I guess I'll have to use my friend <_<
Wouldn't it be possible to boot it using the on-board graphics card and flash from there? I know people have tried it, but they tried with an AGP card and I didn't know if they went into the BIOS and set it as primary adapter... (it won't post if you set AGP as primary adapter without any...
