i have the silverstone 500w SFX-L
when exactly does the fan spin on it? i've never seen it spin ever so im wondering if it could be defective or just not enough load/heat build up to cause it to spin
i think buying ATI was the best thing that happened to AMD. it lets them build APUs.
poor management and sub par releases is what screwed AMD. they got nothing to compete against intel
if anything their APUs are what is keeping them alive thanks to the consoles and they arnt doing that bad...
those USB3 to USB2 adapters were so painful and expensive to get when i did my 7850k isk110 build
used the asrock board instead which has 2 USB2 headers and a USB3 header, no need for adapters
the ISK110 has more then 40mm clearance for CPU cooler, the ISK100 has 40mm.
preaton + scythe thin fits fine, i've done it on my APU ISK build and I've a 5800k in a ISK100 and a 7850k in a ISK110
the 5800k has a slight undervolt whle the 7850k runs at stock
I'm surprised that you are experiencing throttling with your A10 7800.
I've a similar system that I've build some time ago with a A10 7850k in an ISK110 and i dont experience any throttling and its silent. for cooling I just have a xigmatec preaton with a noctua slim 92mm fan
i have, i had a 160XT with a 200W brick with mine for ages.
initially i had a 5800k running in it and now a 7850k.
I'm trying to throw in a AMD R250 as part of the ISK as well but running into getting hybrid to work wall
my old build with the 5800k...
LSK is interesting, seemed like a SG05 sized but designed like the fractal node and styled cheaply like the CM elite 120
none the less i quite like it if the price is right, i dig the rear exhaust
actually whisper quiet is rather doable, my A10 build atm well excluding the HDD is pretty much inaudible.
for cooling I'm using a zigmatek preaton with a 120mm slim scythe fan found on the big shuriken and that is its own fan an other moving part other then a 500GB 7200rpm 2.5" drive. all...
100mb ethernet..... in this day and age......well i guess its not something that cant be solved with a USB3 to gigabit adapter but still it should be bundled.
theoretically if they use a miniPCIe card for the wifi you can have an external GPU with a DIY vidock
the lack of DP annoys me too as...
no its not too small, TDP limit for that case is around 100-120w. you should be able to squeeze more if you are creative
I'm running a A10-5800k in the ISK100 which is a far smaller case which should only support a 65W CPU
there are many other solutions out there but IMO most are half baked or just publicly non existent. maybe give lucid a call for its VGware
ether way im still trying it out with consumer ATI cards and maybe a modded to quadro/teslar consumer nvidia card and see if its viable to chop the GPU up...
"right" card can be an issue. no reason why a consumer card wont do the job but no nvidia wants you to fork out atlest $2000 for a quadro and you get subpar gaming performance.
the affordability of such card is beyond what a home user and most small business can afford
hmm well 1200x800 is very playable or perhaps im very tolerable but i've compared it side by side with an raw output screen to a splashtop running inside VM screen and the latency between them is minimal that you wont really notice it.
true that splashtop is not as good as a raw PCoIP solution...
I'm still randomly experimenting with other options and will be trying spice soon and thin clients
i tried splashtop as it has a droid app as well and it worked pretty good for streaming but it has its limitation that it cant do full screen apps like games so you would have to run them in...
hmm it is kinda viable using "free" solutions so far, so far i've up to the point i have a single GPU passthrough with a consumer ATI card and streamed from that VM to another windows running VM that relatively lag and latency free and kinda good enough for gaming at 1200x800 resolution (native...
you mean quadro? nvidia "can" work with alot of fudging around. this is mainly due to the lack of FLR which AMD has
so far im experimenting with xen and its passthrough options but ultimately i'll go into virtualGL, HDX 3d, VGware, remoteFX etc
since i've 2 identical rigs with intention of...
this is exactly what im experimenting with, im running into walls with GPU passthrough using the 670GTX. i've yet to try other solutions
the best i can come up with so far is to have a few 7770 class GPUs and have them assigned directly to the VM however my goal is similar to yours and i'd...
it does go into mobo area but it goes straight up and out rather then down onto the mobo. GPU has no where else for the hot air to escape if you a non reference cooler. CPU cooling was never an issue but GPU is.
if you use the top fan as intake then you would be blowing that hot air down so...
tbh its more of managing air rather then needing beefier cooling. no matter how good your cooling is its gonna saturate inside the case if you cant expel it. you might want to try a negative pressure and see if it improves the temps with the top fan as an exhaust.
it might give you a slightly...
watercooling isnt expensive and beside the point. im sure you guys can manage smaller/smarter designs while keeping dual rad. im not exactly advocating the prodigy ether as i find that case rubbish in alot of ways including its size and the poor use of space and the plasticy build quality.
im...
which the prodigy delivers
its about smart designs and in this case it doesnt seemed really smart by just making it big.
if you can design it to still fit dual rad while keeping it the size of a shoebox with flexibility and in a less cramped manner then thats smart
weight matters alot to me, the lighter the better but not at the expense of quality.
some nice rolled alu would be great, i've no problem spending alot on just the case itself. it makes the build more valuable and unique
some vibration dampening fittings to panels would be a great thing to have
tbh you are better off with one of the all in one watercoolers but if you must have air
then maybe a zigmatek preaton + a thick fan. im using the zigmatek with slim fan to cool a A10 5800k and intels at stock clocks wont get hotter then that
