I have a X2 3800+ 2GB RAM and a 8800GT in my AOpen XC Cube barebone. Stock config gives me around 7600 in 3Dmark06.
Overclocking in this small case isn't an option (can't even belive that the 275w psu isn't giving me trouble).
The GPU on my BFG get's about 65 C during "full load".
I managed to clock the memorys higher when I removed the termaltape from the heatsink. In my case I belive that the heatsink heated them up rather than cooling them?
I went from a 7600GT to a 8800GT last week.

Noticed a very sweet increase in performance. I get around 7600 3Dmark06 and very healthy framerates in BF2 @ 1680x1050 and COD4.
Get the 8800GT, then get a Core2Duo when you have the cash.
I changed to stock paste yesterday, without thinking much about it I also removed the tape and applied paste on memory.
Then I read this thread about the space betweem the heatsink and memory, so I changed back to the tape.
But memory clocks much worse when the memory is in contact the...
