I glad I thought to check this forum. I'm heading back to school next Monday, but this is conveniently located half-way in between. I haven't been to a decent LAN in years. Count me in.
I'm looking to update my drivers to the latest Forceware driver that was released Friday, but I had a question about the install: Is it really necessary to use Driver Cleaner each time you install a new driver, or am I safe just uninstalling the current one and then installing the latest ones?
I vote for the G9. I was looking to replace my G5 with either a Habu or the G9, and I'm more than satisfied with my decision to go with the G9. The quality of manufacture alone is enough to win me over. Add to that the ability to change the middle mouse scroll from click to smooth, the near...
Count me in this club. I was hardcore into the original CS for many years; having played since beta 4. After the release of CS:S and Steam, it just got old and any subsequent games I played on the side (TFC, Q3A, Tribes 2) also took a backseat. I stopped "cold turkey" about two years ago...
I feel the same way. Someone else made a similar post before you as well about the trouble of finding a good server. I used to love this game, but the lack of decent servers is a huge deterrent. I'm not looking for kids spamming the mic and weird mods; just a respectable place to pub for a bit...
I have my 360 connected to my 2407 with the VGA adapter, and I can assure you that it displays without any stretching; provided you set the "Wide Mode" option to 1:1 under "Display Settings" on the monitor. I cannot speak about the component/composite cables, however.
It looks great, and I...
I agree; I've never played any GTA game out of respect for the graphics, as it didn't really matter. The GTA series is a perfect example of how graphics take a backseat to superb gameplay; a proper sacrifice. Graphics mean nothing if the gameplay lacks originality and/or creativity. Sad to say...
Sorry about breaking the even 1000, but I have a cooling idea that I wanted some opinions about (from current PC-A05B owners):
I'm about to build my new system in a PC-A05B. I am planning to retain the original fan flow (albeit replace the stock fans with Yate Loons) with an intake at the...
Epic and very helpful. I'm planning to buy Vista in about a week and that cleared up a lot of confusion. Thanks for that, Ghost.
Congratulations on 3000 posts, by the way
Brave indeed  Glad you made it out okay. I'll bet it was worth the effort.
I just received an email from Best Buy saying they've now shipped out my order (Saturday, oddly).
I'm still "In Process" as well. I regret not simply walking into the store to buy it myself. Now I get to play the waiting game. Great.
Skizzy: do keep us posted as to their response.
Incredible find; what a deal. I've been holding out because I felt like $50 was a waste being that I already have two of the games packaged. I now have no excuse.
Mr. Wolf: thanks a lot man!
I have nothing to contribute to the discussion at hand. But, in researching for an upcoming build, I want to say that I find this thread incredibly useful. I tend to side with Wolfpup; I try to build the best at the time (within reason) and hang on to it for 4+ years. I'm reconsidering a few...
+1
I'm running the exact same set-up as what Blindside suggested and recommend it 100%. I was also a bit apprehensive of using VGA in lieu of composite, but this is the ideal solution for 1080p.
Regarding sound: rather than a RCA to female stereo adapter, consider an RCA to male adapter...
