I did just that yesterday. Was waiting for a Ti Classified but once the he price was listed at $800 (and now $820) at NCIX I knew I was priced out. Bought a $699 780 Ti yesterday to replace my 6970. Waiting is great but I'd rather enjoy now. I can also pick up a waterblock for the card and still...
I'm currently using a 6970 and an upgrade before the end of the year is inevitable.
I'm determined to stay the course and see how everything shakes down on the 7th, but the 780 Classified is on sale at a Canadian retailer for $549 + $10 MIR. Goddammit this is tempting. I almost wonder if a 780...
I've been keeping an eye on NCIX in Canada. The prices were dropped, and then back up to $700+. Just checked now... $599 again. So ridiculously tempted, but I need to see how everything shakes down come the 7th.
Am I the only one who is disappointed? I'm on a 2600K, 6970 and Windows 7 x64. I know my video card is dated, but I'm playing on medium. I'm fine with the frames per second I'm getting, but the game itself just seems a bit off. People I shoot don't die, people who shoot me kill me extremely...
Yeah, he did exactly what a lot of [H] members have asked Kyle to do; run the cards at their maximum possible overclocks and compare them. At their maximum overclocks at lower resolutions, the 780 comes out on top. That's all. Nothing shill about it it. Both overclocked, 290X comes out on top in...
First off, after weeks of anticipation I'd like to thank Brent and Kyle for delivering such a detailed review.
The 290X certainly is a powerhouse given that it can compete with the best that nVidia has to offer, but I can't help but think that once the dust settles, and prices are dropped and...
I feel almost bad having to ask this, but how the hell do the plastic fan mounts come out of the case? I'm trying to remove the one underneath the hot swap bays and I can only manage to release three of the plastic clips. The fourth one (closest to the motherboard) seems to have an extra plastic...
Does the package include shorter replacement screws, or do some need to be ordered?
I'm seeing that in at least 2010, they didn't include replacement screws. I've seen the screw size quoted as M2x3mm. Anyone know if this is accurate?
Now that I've had some feedback, I'm going to leave the switches alone and just splice in black wiring and sleeve from there. Like you, I wouldn't dare try to force them out and it looks like they are either glued in or clipped on in at least four spots.
Anyone out there able to tell me how to get the power and reset switches out of the housing? I'm able to get the lights, USB and audio ports out for wire replacement prior to sleeving, but I'm unable figure out how to release the power and reset switches... any help would be greatly appreciated!
I too cannot believe how lucky that guy was. Those loot spawns were ridiculous. I'm sure there are some people out there who spend 8 hours trying to collect all of that equipment. Hell, after 12 hours I only had a map, watch, compass, knife and matches. That guy had that and more within 30 minutes.
I don't think I'm making too much of this at all. I'd expect some threads, but there isn't any. All I needed was the advice/suggestion and I'm on my way.
Thanks.
I've got a quick question about the little power supply bracket that assists the Velcro band. Is it supposed to be threaded? It says in the manual to attach it with two 'C' screws which are the same as the motherboard mounting screws... except they won't fit??! The two holes aren't threaded...
Okay, I have a request for anyone who has the original USB 2.0 headers that came on the earlier FT02s. I've attempted to get an answer out of Silverstone, but their support doesn't seem to grasp what I'm asking.
The newer USB 3.0 header cable goes from two external ports to one internal...
Don't want to hijack the thread, but I simply have to share my fondest UO memory...
My guild had a small house that was right to the left of the sign post at the Britain crossroads (I'm sure all UO vets know where I'm talking about). For fun we would make the house private, unlock the door...
I simply have to repeat it... Ultima Online.
There may have been some rough patches when the game was first released, but the memories I have from that game are just too unique.
I tried flying the jet with my 360 pad and only lasted like 10 minutes. Sure, I probably didn't play long enough to get used to it (I don't play 360 so I'm not very good at handling the controller to begin with) but after switching back I unlocked everything in like 6-8 hours.
Quick hyper-threading related question... I'm obviously aware that disabling HT was benefiting quite a few people... but was BF3 designed to utilize more than 4 threads of execution and it's just currently bugged?
I find myself rarely using the rockets on the AA gun. It's all bullets. There are several spots you can go to for either team that let you hide from enemy tank fire while being close enough to shoot down planes. Inevitably a plane will fly too low and I can usually drop it on one approach with...
To be honest, I don't think any pilots necessarily make it a challenge. If someone flies close enough overhead they're going down. I guess the only thing I could add is that if a jet has guided missile unlocked they can fire it without getting close enough to be hit with significant damage. Just...
Anyone else find the AA tank to be ridiculously enjoyable? Every time I actually manage to get in that thing it seems like the other team just stops trying to fly altogether.
Has anyone ever seen or investigated the possibility of stacking two solid state drives using something like the included bracket behind the 5.25" bays? Cabling might be a bit of a bitch, but I'd love it put two drives on top of each other back there. Tight for space... but just maybe?
Yeah, I agree. I'll go ahead with it in the end, I know I will. I'm just hung up on a potential RMA battle with my FT02 that arrived slightly damaged. Once I sort it out I'm sure I'll be all over a new machine.
Absoultely agree. Still feels like it's polluting my decision. Ivy might be 6+ months away but I can't help but think about that as well... even though I've lived with an E8400 for this long.
Okay, I'm done hijacking this thread. My apologies.
Thanks. You purchase that rig recently? Probably doesn't belong in this thread, but I simply can't decide whether or not it's a good time to buy. Sure, I'm on a freakin' E8400, but with SB-E coming in a couple weeks and new GPUs early next year... can't decide argh.
I'm on an E8400 and considering a giant upgrade. My tentative build looks a lot like yours, sKiDmArK, except after seeing the BF3 performance tests here I think I'm gonna go with 6970s in CF. Overall, how does your machine run sKiDmArK?
Yeah I've obviously considered that. Had the retailer just accepted the RMA and I was able to do an exchange I'd probably have just done it... but now they want photos and they only have one left in stock locally and two left in Canada.
Just received my FT02 today and the first thing I did was check the paint. Sure enough, right out of the box, one corner on each panel is chipped.
I think I could successfully RMA the case... problem is, I get the feeling that this would just happen again. I feel like the chipping could have...
Extremely interested to know what's hanging up the Crossfire setup. I've been back and forth between 580s and 6970s the last few days... need something decisive!
