    Honestly, I would keep complaining. Call and complain through the regular channel, then ask for a supervisor, and ask them for a corporate phone number/email address so you can file a complaint on how they aren't fixing the product under warranty, the time and effort wasted/spend chasing them, etc.

    My 860 at 3.5GHz (160x22) with 212+ and an hour of prime95 would peak at 73/69/68/72. At 3.7GHz it would hit 78-82 with an hour of prime95. I couldn't get 3.7GHz rock solid yet so I run 3.5.

    What? Intel stock cooling is LOUDER than aftermarket solutions with a 120mm volt controlled fan. I didn't plan on OCing my 860 so quickly but the damn stock fan was so loud I went out and got one. Much much quieter now. Damn 4890 is the noise maker now.

    Only been able to get 3.5GHz stable (prime95 and LinX all memory 6+ hrs each) but I think it's due to my stock PCH 1.08V and PCH 1.05V voltages. 71/69/68/69 temps with Ultra-120A and 1156 bracket. I need to mess with it a little more, not sure what the PCH amounts should be so I haven't moved...

    Thanks for the info Kyle. I need to play with the PCH 1.08V and PCH 1.05V values, I haven't touched those yet because I'm not sure what they are. That's probably why my 3.7GHz+ error out in stress tests.

    Good post :) Also, I think 2000MHz with slower (higher) timings can still be faster than 1333MHz with faster (lower) timings because in the same cycle it can still do more. Hopefully Mr. K6 or someone else can verify or deny that. I don't know how much 100MHz of RAM speed equals in timing but...

    it was itsmezed who has the high VTT/CPU volt. what is a reasonable amount? I think I did 1.2 VTT and 1.34 CPU (before tweaking lower) to get 3.7GHz with 170 multiplier. Still haven't had enough time to tweak it.

    The instructions for the 212+ could be better but it's incredibly simple to install. Move the screws to the middle for 1156 (by lifting the screw and sliding), put the backplate on the back, thread the studs through the top of the motherboard and twist so it will fit through the backplate...

    Well that's why I'd like to check, I just started OCing this week. haha. I'd love to make sure I have something other than a foxconn before too late... I've never looked when I've placed an LGA chip in to make sure everything was making good contact. lol
