If you want to connect the PS3 to a digital device using HDMI port it is mandatory to have HDPC compliant device. Its because of BlueRay specs. I think HDDVD requires it also.

this monitor DOESN'T SUPPORT HDCP OVER DVI, so PS3 over DVI on VM2025wm is a dead end.

i can tell you that i had a VX924, then swapped for a VP930b, and then swapped to a VX2025wm. the best thing i did. the difference in money cant be much... compare prices on www.newegg.com or pricewatch and do the math.
