I tried out both the 23" model and the 27" model of this monitor and I can tell you that they both stink when compared with the Samsung SA950. The picture on the S23A750 is really drab and washed out when compared to the 23" SA950.
Hopefully one of you well informed gents can tell me whether this is technically a good machine.
I wish I were a better informed consumer, 'cause I suspect I could have gotten a better overall performing machine at a relatively cheap price. Either way, this is what I ended up getting; and...
I can get a Jerker, second-hand, for $60. Worth it? This is my current set-up, but I plan on getting a second 24" display in the very near future:
My current desk isn't wide enough to hold duel 24" monitors (well, it might be, but then I'd have nowhere to put my 360s.) Can I go wrong with...
I've posted my set-up before, but I've since cleaned it up a bit and it now looks as good as it's going to get.
This monitor is currently my PC monitor, 360 display, HD DVD/ Blu Ray display, and HDTV. lol, it does it all. I have a ps3 too, but it's not pictured (it's in my living room hooked...
Here's a pretty severe issue I've encountered with this monitor. Sometimes, when I'm on my pc, the monitor will give me a whiteout. Meaning that monitor will go completely white. That's not all; once the screen goes white, it doesn't go back to normal on its own. It just stays white. In order to...
Hi,
That stinks that your stuff hasn't been resolved. I've always just assumed my 360 has the Falcon chipset. At any rate, I can give you all the info (like the build date, and model number) for the 360 when I get home from work.
I really have no idea why you're still having issues.
I've posted pics of my 360 running on the Z model. Let me first say that, for me, 360 gaming on this monitor is outstanding. Now then, I'm well aware that there are well documented concerns associated with this monitor with respect to 360 gaming. And, in truth, I've encountered issues (that are...
It is pretty useless actually. I have this monitor and seldom turn BFI on. It makes images darker, so you lose detail in certain images. The higher the BFI setting, the worse images get. Plus, I can't tell whether it reduces ghosting anyway. Every displayed image/video looks to run at the same...
for the record, my monitor went haywire once when hooked up to my 360. Here's a video I shot.:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=3UrVxtIxfu4
It only happened once and it hasn't happened since.
It does also suffer from the typical DVD-D blackout problem, although it's not too bad; it only...
I wanted throw this little kernel out there. I cannot for the life of me effectively use the sniper rifle in Halo 3 when playing on the Benq FP241WZ. I'm thinking there may be some killer input lag that makes sniping virtually impossible. I'm going to put this theory to the test. I'm going to...
Here are some new pics of my monitor properly displaying 1080p (or at least I'm presuming it's proper.) The pics are of the Xbox 360 game The ORange Box, a couple HD DVDS, and the Xbox 360 dashboard. All images are being displayed through HDMI at 1080p.
That's what I'm starting to suspect as well. I borrowed my friend's PS3 and I tested it on my monitor via HDMI and it definetely displayed a bugged image when 1080p was selected as the resolution of choice.
But now, when using my new Xbox 360 via HDMI, and when the selected resolution is...
Hi,
Yes, reports are that Falcon chipsets don't necessarily guarantee 100% reliability. In fact there are rumors circulating that Microsoft has already begun developing newer chipsets to further combat reliability issues like overheating. The rumored chipset is being dubbed Jasper. Here are a...
Greetings,
It is indeed the 24" as nite0 guessed. The displayed resolution is indeed at 1920x1080p and the monitor does indeed have a native res of 1920x1200. Since the screen is running at 1920x1080, there are black bars above and below the displayed image.
Hi,
Ok, here's the deal: This new unit is the Halo edition 360. It does have an HDMI port. In fact, all newly manufactured 360s have HDMI ports, not just the Elite units. Initially,Microsoft was only shipping HDMI ports on Elites, but just recently they made HDMI ports standard on all 360...
Yes. I checked both the Xbox 360 and the monitor. They're both running at 1080p.
Edit: Actually, both the 360 and the monitor state that they're running at 1920x1080, although I don't know if that means 1080i or 1080p. I can tell you, however, that the resolution setting for the Xbox 360 game...
Ok so my BenQ FP241WZ can't display the 1920x1080p resolution for my Xbox 360 using the VGA port. I also know that it can't properly display 1080p with the PS3 using the HDMI port. This weekend my Xbox 360 (that lacks an HDMI port) died on me so I went out and bought replacement Xbox 360. This...

It seems that the new line of Aquos displays (The D64U line) are now available. I was wondering if any of you gentlemen bought one? I was looking for impressions as I am in the market.
It looks like some of the new models are up on Amazon...
There seems to be some severe problem either with the Benq monitor itself, the 360 itself, or both because the monitor will not output true 1080p for the 360. Instead, when you set the 360 to 1080p, the monitor will default to 1680x1050. I've actually managed to get the monitor to, at the very...
