Will a Xonar DX fit in GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 slot 1?

Nobody? Can someone who owns this board at least tell me whether the right (cpu side) of the slot is in line with or just past the RAM clips?

Will a Xonar DX fit in GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 slot 1?

I'm planning a system upgrade from what I have in my sig, and I'm looking at the ASUS GTX570 with the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3P-B3. Due to the 3-slot cooling of the ASUS card, I am thinking to put my Xonar DX in PCIEx1_1 (the slot closest to the CPU). I can't do this with my current motherboard because...

    Corsair SP2500 Speaker System

Dextar, looks like the Corsairs are just what you need, as they do indeed perform very well for what you're using them for. Glad you are happy with your decision. Of course, we're going to have to agree to disagree about how they sound for music. ;)

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

Why? I have no need for headphones at home. The computer room is far enough from the bedrooms that I don't disturb anyone. I have Sennheisers at work and a set of ATH earphones for travel.

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

Nice, I'm still within the return window for my Klipsch, I'll give the SP2200 a try. Edit: Darn, sold out. Newegg doesn't carry them yet either. Oh well.

Sorry, no can do. Other than the fact that I've returned them, I don't have any headphones at home. :p

Dylan, any more requests before I return the Corsairs this weekend?

    Five 2.1 Speaker Set Comparison

As an owner of the newer Klipsch 2.1s, I have to say the bass is disappointing at higher levels. I can only stand to have the subwoofer turned to 8 or 9 before it starts to become too strong and thumpy, but at that lower level it still sounds acceptable. I completely know what you mean about the...

Asus Xonar DX good enough for 2.1?

I do not recommend the Corsairs for music as they are today - I'd wait and see if they're able to address the issues I pointed out in a firmware update.

Asus Xonar DX good enough for 2.1?

Sorry, I typod that - they're actually 7" across, on top of which they're almost 12" tall and 6.5" deep. But to answer your question, yes, I really am that short on space on my desk. My desk is in the corner of the room and is 48" wide and 24" deep. On it I have my LCD monitor which is 22" wide...

Asus Xonar DX good enough for 2.1?

I'm looking at the Klipsch and Corsairs exactly because of desk space issues... the Corsairs are about 4.5" wide and they just about fit; I looked at the B652s and they are 6" across, way too big for my desk space.

I don't feel that anyone has tried to do that so far, so all is good.

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

Hi Dylan, thanks for the feedback. In fact I had planned to return it this weekend, to give people time to request additional tests. I think this depends heavily on the kinds of games you play - for an RPG or any game with a lot of dialog, I think it would be about the same or favoring the...

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

Height of the bass unit, including rubber feet, is 11.75" with the feet being 0.75" of that. They're little rubber pegs that you could tear off if you wanted to, but then you'll have the entire sub vibrating against whatever it's resting on - probably not a good idea. At $199 it would be a...

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

Yes REFERENCE is the default setting out of the box. Dylan, I'll try setting it to classical, but may I ask what exactly does "electrically flat" mean and why would anyone care? Why isn't reference acoustically flat, which is the audio industry standard meaning for that term? Also, it's nice...

Asus Xonar DX good enough for 2.1?

The Xonar DX is a great card at a great price. No matter what speakers/sub you get, you can use the included Audio Center (Xonar control panel utility) to set a custom equalizer profile that turns down the low frequencies, so you can swap between presets quickly without having to turn anything...

Bose Quietcomfort 15 or AT ATH-ANC7b?

Another thing I'd like to point out is that active noise canceling headphones are really only good against a constant noise, like jet engines. If you're trying to cancel out sudden, random noises like people talking or snacking on chips, they won't really be of much help. In this particular...

Bose Quietcomfort 15 or AT ATH-ANC7b?

I own the previous generation of the QuietComforts, the around-ear ones (the 2), and I have to say they are worth the money. I've tried a lot of noise canceling headsets (Sony, JVC, Sennheiser, ATH) because I fly a lot, and the Bose are by far the best performing and most comfortable. Sure their...

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

I do some gaming as well, but nothing serious, and I almost never watch movies on the computer (the TV is right behind me), but if I had to extrapolate from my testing, I would say that the Corsairs will probably be no better for gaming but much better for movies. The sound card is listed...

Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 vs Corsair SP2500: a subjective comparison

I recently decided to upgrade my PC sound "system" from my going-on-10-years-old Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000, a 4.1 setup which I had been using in a 2.1 configuration with only the front satellites. A friend of mine has owned the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 for the past several years, and I'd always...

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

You will be interested to know, then, that I'm upgrading from my set of Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 4.1 speakers (of which I only use the fronts in a 2.1 setup), which still work and sound good after almost 10 years of continuous use. I only just got the Klipsch 2.1 last Tuesday and the...

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

Just picked up the SP2500 from Fry's (CA Bay Area store). Price was $280. According to their computers they have no plans to carry the 2200s. At this price point the M-Audio BX5a ($300) would be a better comparison than the AV40 ($150). Will report back with subjective comparison to Klipsch 2.1...

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

In what way did you want me to check them out? The listening conditions in the store are terrible and the Fry's location that I go to doesn't even have them out to demo like Best Buy does.

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

I just picked up a set of the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 earlier this week from Best Buy; I'll go to Fry's as soon as they have the Corsairs in stock and do a side by side comparison, then return the loser and report back.

    Cyborg R.A.T. Mouse

Mad Catz Rich, it would be really helpful if you could convince the driver guys to actually include the driver version in the filename, or at least get the web guys to add a blurb about the current version on the page. As it stands you have to periodically download the 9.74 MB file and...

    Looking for a compact keyboard

Second the MS Arc. It's got the ergo key arrangement like their natural elites, low profile laptop style keys, and is tiny. I use it for coding at work, sometimes 10+ hours at a stretch.

    Logitech G9x vs Cyborg R.A.T 7

I own both the older G9 and the RAT 7. The G9 has a slower tracking sensor than the G9x, but in practice I've never reached the G9's limit, so I doubt I'd notice any difference with the G9x. I run the G9 at 1200 dpi, and the RAT7 at 1450 dpi, with no acceleration. With the default sensitivity...

    Cyborg R.A.T. Mouse

The mouse glitched again on me tonight, first the H axis then 5 minutes later the Y axis. I can't accept being in constant worry that I'm going to lose an axis of motion in the middle of a fight, no matter how rare it is. Going to exchange this one, but if it doesn't help, then I'll have to just...

    Dell U2410

Yes, the green tint is a defective panel. My first unit had green tinting on the left and red tinting on the right. Fortunately my replacement unit seems to be almost perfectly even. But while we're on the topic of color calibration, does anyone know why I can't seem to calibrate it using...

$499 is the lowest I've ever seen them, sometimes they include free shipping too.

    Dell U2410

If all you're going for is something that looks fine, then calibration is pretty easy. Even the built-in Windows 7 calibration program will do a decent job for that purpose. If you want to do print quality calibration though, you're going to want a tool.

    Dell U2410

I guess it depends on what you mean by "this" monitor and "that bad". Your comment makes it seem like the build quality of the U2311H is pretty bad too if you're on your third one? I would agree that the tinting issue is pretty bad, but from what I experienced while using mine for a few hours on...

    Cyborg R.A.T. Mouse

Just experienced this issue again, only reversed: mouse would not track in the horizontal plane but was fine in the vertical. If this keeps up it's going to go back to Amazon, my G9 exhibited no tracking issues ever in the almost two years that I've been using it.
