I think the issue is that xoticpc claims they will price match but give no specifics for what would qualify for a price match. Then they follow that up with not honoring a price match because a competitor is giving too good of a deal.
If a company is going to try to use price matching as a...
I've just bought my first AMD card (7950) and have always had Nvidia in the past.
I've not had any problems with either.
While it's seems to be the common opinion that AMD software/drivers are worse, so far I have had no issues and it was simply plug and play.
Not saying people don't...
Looks like Amazon is sold out of the 120GB version but I went ahead and bought the 240gb version.
The nice thing is it comes with the 2.5 to 3.5 drive bay adapter. Most of the other deals that I have seen were for a barebones drive.
Buy.com deal is decent but would guess most people would...
I can't stand glossy monitors. If i wanted a mirror, then I would have gotten a mirror instead of a monitor.
Everyone has different opinions though but AG coating IMO is the lesser of two evils.
I purchased a Samsung 830 128 GB for $85 and a SanDisk Extreme 120 GB for $80.
The deal isn't much different than recent deals on other SSDs from more reliable companies.
I just bought the 120 GB version for my 4 year old laptop to replace the OCZ Vertex 60 GB.
Not sure I can talk myself into the 240 GB version as a secondary SSD for my desktop. Think I'll wait til I actually need more space with the way prices are falling.
i might down the road. I don't have any games at the moment that would even make it break a sweat on a single 20in monitor.
Although planning on getting Skyrim and a few other games but should still be able to handle that with ease anyway.
Interesting that he acts like being a reference card directly from nvidia is a positive when a lot of non-reference cards actually make improvements with better fans and overclocking out of the box.
With the price of the 660ti falling between $299-345, not sure it will shake down the prices in the $200-250 range as there still isn't much competition there.
The only caveat being if the 660ti is a higher performer than expected or if it quickly falls in price.
for a smaller step up, you could get a 7850 for around $200. The nicer OC versions run about $240-250 though but at that point it's hard not to recommend spending the extra $60 for a 7950 OC.

Voltage is only 1.41 according to kingston's website
I'm not seeing where you put the coupon code and don't see any rebate mentioned on the site??
a little less than $10 cheaper than the deal I got on the MSI 7950. Just hope it doesn't drop like a rock next week when the 660ti comes out and make me wish I had waited.
Looks like a pretty good deal. MSI and Gigabyte seem to make some nice cards.
Got my gpu into the computer and my new completed build is definitely quieter than my old build.
Of course, more goes into the noise levels of the system than just the GPU but happy with the results, especially at idle.
Windows 8 WEI score of 7.7, 7.7, 8.1, 8.1, 8.1 is a nice improvement too.
Not sure if HP still does it but they used to lock their computers down so that you had to buy memory upgrades directly from them or it wouldn't work (at least not easily). Never tried to replace anything else in my HP computer back in the day but would be surprised if they didn't have other...
Hardly. HP would have little legal ground to stand on and they wouldn't put more money into legal defense than they lost on a price mistake.
Agreeing to an EULA that doesn't agree with the law doesn't mean anything. I've read about big companies that have had EULAs that couldn't stand up in...
I don't think anyone here is holding it against HP for fixing a price mistake and not shipping out the orders.
The part in contention is HP's policy (which has nothing to do with this particular price mistake) that they can bill you a higher price after purchase has been completed and the item...
I didn't order it but I doubt HP will ship it to those who did.
I think the policy is there in the rare case that they ship it before the catch it. More like a safety net that they are unlikely to need.
Just not sure how that policy would be legal. Wonder if the policy includes the option...
I think it's fair for companies to fix price mistakes before any money or items switch hands.
However, if the item makes it out the door and they take your money then in my opinion the sale should be final. There shouldn't be an oops, we're going to charge you more for an item you already...
I ended up going with the MSI Radeon HD 7950OC Twin Frozr III card for $315 after $20 MIR.
It's cool, quiet and good on power consumption and still has good performance according to reviews that I've seen.
if 660 ti is 2 GB 256bit, then what is going to make it slower than the 670?
has to be something that makes it slower and draw less power. Otherwise no one will be buying the 670.
Not sure why they'd lie about it and many rumors of the card are saying it's 2 GB (although could just be copying the same source).
Even if it's just 1.5 GB, the benchmarks look pretty good. Guess we'll know soon enough.
After reading this TweakTown 660 ti review, I think I'm going to wait for it to come out.
If Gigabyte releases a quieter version of this then it's golden.
haven't received any of the components yet but based on reviews, the tjo8b-e case is supposed to be good at keeping the internals cool. Although they only compared it to other micro-atx cases so not sure how it does compared to regular sized cases. The reviews do say I can fit full sized video...
visiontek Radeon 7850 looks pretty tempting at $220.
Although might should wait on the 660 ti to come out in a couple weeks. Even if the Radeon is still the better deal, it might cause prices to drop a bit.
Working on building a small, budget friendly, quiet gaming pc and wondered if anyone had any recommendations on a video card that is quiet with it's stock fan. Not looking at aftermarket gpu fan options.
I prefer nvidia to ati due to a history of more reliable drivers but seems nvidia cards...
I read on another forum (not sure if they're correct) that Vista (presumably Win 7 as well) will align automatically. XP (and older) would require manual alignment.
edit: Windows 7 does align automatically.

I got the same emails saying product isn't available.
Not sure how that could be true given someone got theirs shipped and they ordered after I did.
Congrats to those who got it but Buy.com should be processing first come, first serve (at least for those with the same shipping options...
Did anyone that's said it has shipped use free shipping?
The status for mine still says "Sent to warehouse". At one point in time, I thought it said processing for shipping" or something but then switched back to saying "Sent to Warehouse"
