Here's the situation. I currently have the following desktop, built april 2010:
- Intel i5 750
- ATI HD5850
- 4 GB RAM (can't remember speed or brand)
- Asus P7P55 mobo
- 500 GB 7200 RPM Seagate 7200.10 or .11
I own a 12 inch Samsung netbook which has become too slow for my purposes. I...
It is a fair point to say that there is always a lot of promise for newer tech. But I think it also depends on what you currently have, so to say the performance leap you're making. Plus, Nvidia don't seem to be developing technology at a great pace at the moment due to their seeming superiority...
Hi,
Around september last year I bought me a 7900 GT 512MB card. In december that year I decided to buy an entire new system because it was a big bottleneck for the card.
So now I'm on my new system and I'm happy with the performance of the card still, but I think it is starting to die...
Alright I'll start with my setup:
- Soundcard: Adi 1988B onboard chip (on an Asus P5B-E)
- Driver: SoundMax HD Audio 5.2
- Microphone: Sennheiser e825 S dynamic microphone
I have my mic hooked up to my onboard audio with a 6.3>3.5mm converter plug. I have another mic ($5 computer mic)...
I've just thought... The OSD is controllable by mouse in Windows. Would the OSD give the same possibilities hooked up to a PS3, or would it be inaccessible?
The manual is quite unclear to me, they're talking about HDCP in general but don't really make a statement about whether or not this monitor is HDCP compliant.
Then why would there be a demand for 1:1 pixel mapping on a monitor if most of the time this can just be accomplished softwarematically? Also, you suggest that it wouldn't work on a console for instance then?
I've seen this photo on another forum that makes me think the 226bw has 1:1 pixel mapping after all...

It's running at the native laptop resolution which is 1280x800. Does it only do this because it's connected dual screen?
Hmm yeah from what I read the LG and the BenQ monitors receive the best feedback... I was hoping someone would have a setup of an LG L245WP with a PS3 (not the L246WP discussed in that review, although they're apparently quite similar).
Hello guys, I'm from Europe (Netherlands) so my choice isn't as great as yours, and the prices certainly aren't pretty either. :p I am looking for a pc monitor that meets the following demands:
- Allows me to connect a PS3 at 1080p and a PC at 1920x1200 simultaneously
- Has sharp and vivid...
@Rix: It's not that I didn't believe you, just your explanation wasn't precisely what I needed to know. However, your second post did remove some question marks for me, so thanks for that.
@Bob Gates: Your post is convincing me to get a 20" for the extra pixels. It is pretty much the same...
Well I kind of figured that part out, but I was wondering since 19" screens have a bigger pixel pitch as you call it than a 20", does this result in any quality loss? Because normally you'd expect that a 19" screen has more pixels than a 17" screen and less than a 20" etc.
I'm happy with...
I'm looking to get myself a widescreen TFT monitor. I currently have a 17" normal TFT screen. I'd want it maybe one inch higher but particularly wider.
Now I've been looking around, and I'm not asking which one to get since there are plenty of reviews and opinions to find. I just want to know...
Well, it appears that both the motherboard and the power supply were dead on arrival. No life out of it at all. The voltmeter doesn't give any power on the psu and the motherboard doesn't do anything with any type of memory.
Sending both parts RMA but I've just seen two possibly bent socket...
I'm Dutch, we have different ISP's ;)
It's 1mbit speed, we've had this since cable was just new, not much under ten years is my guess... Dialing up only means logging in basically. Don't know why we still have to do it.
Anyway, right now I have it so that it starts when I sign in. How can...
Thanks for the quick reply.
When I try to add a task in there and I select: at startup or when I sign in, it asks me for a user and a password. The username is already filled out, it looks something like AS351A\Ramon. I've no password on my account (as there aren't on any of the other accounts)...
I have a cable internet connection which requires some sort of dialup procedure. I've managed to do the easy part that when you open the file to connect, it automatically attempts to connect instead of you having to enter the username / password and pressing a button.
Now here comes a part that...
Yeah but I'd like to see first if it would really solve the problem. If it appears to be memory bound as you say, then I can always pick up a 533Mhz stick afterwards. :)
You might be onto something because the G.Skill memory I have is rated at 1.9-2.0V and I had heard possibilities that it wouldn't boot at all by default. I initially figured that, since the motherboard is compatible with my memory, that component wasn't the problem. But I suppose the people who...
Yesterday me and my friend put together my new rig. Specs:
Asus P5B-E
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300
OCZ ModStream 450w
G.Skill 2gb PC2-6400 4-4-4-12
Gainward 7900GT 512mb
This all in a nice and shiny Antec Solo case.
But after connecting everything the system does not boot. The motherboard...
