I didn't try using a knife, but I tried screwdriver. After pressing on the release tab a couple times it got so weak that when I touched it I could tell it was going to come off so I just removed it.
Nearly completed my build over the weekend, need to add one more 2TB drive that I need to pull out of another machine.
Overall I am happy with the server. Very quiet and easy to build in, for the most part.
Taking the motherboard out is a bit of a hassle...my master SAS cable would not come...
Thanks for the heads up OP. I plan to put my Vantec EZ-Swap 3.5-5.25 in the top bay with the 250GB drive and then populate the 4 open slots with various 2TB & 1TB drives.
Not a bad system for the money, also considering you get a 250GB drive as well, which if you had to buy separately nowadays...
Ya it was $82 when I posted it. I picked up a couple at BestBuy for some other rigs that were rocking onboard sound. I live in CA so it was actually cheaper to do BestBuy then the Egg.
You really shouldn't. The Santa Clara store is a few miles from my house, that store is so dangerous. I went in for a $18 DVD burner and walked out with basically enough components to build a rig. Combine that with the Fry's in Sunnyvale which is less than 10 mins away from MicroCenter and it...
Just completed my transfer from a HAF-X to my FT02S-W.
Couple of downsides from switching have been...
1. Not enough room behind the motherboard to route all my cables. I knew this going in and knew it was going to be a challenge and it sure did prove to be one. The cables on my Corsair...
Bit the bullet today and bought a FT02S-W today on Amazon. If the delivery estimate is correct I should have a fun project tomorrow. Gotta love Amazon Prime :)
The only things i don't like about my HAF-X is that the side 200mm cooling fan is designed for XLATX mobos and my 2 GTX 460s on my Sabertooth X58; the bottom card is at the top of the 200mm fan and the top card isn't getting much air, or any, from the side fan.
And I have not been able to get...

Underneath the motherboard tray is a mounting location for a second PSU. I used to own a Stacker 810, and the thing that was awesome about it at the time was that it could be converted to the then new BTX formfactor that never really took off outside of OEMs. you could convert the case from...
Ya you have to remember that each platform and even motherboards in the same platform have different locations for the CPU. If i put my Asus AM3 motherboard in there you would see the CPU be more centered in the backplate cutout area. I also agree that CM could of made the whole a little bigger...
I just popped my case apart to re-route my USB3.0 cables because the original motherboard I had in my HAF-X did not have USB3.0 and CM gives you a nice USB2.0 A-Type Male to Female 9 pin header cable to replace them so you don't lose any rear I/O ports and you plug them directly into the...
You might have a flakey motherboard or RAM. Do a memtest86 using a Linux live CD to test your RAM to rule it out. Also what are the specs of your system, especially your power supply.
Actually there is a finalized spec of USB3.0 internal header. Some of the hot of the press cases now have them. The new budget Silverstone Milo ML03 HTPC case with the new internal header springs to mind.

I watched the same couple of videos today again of the RV03 at Computex last year and the CES preview this year. In the video Tony says they moved the one of the AP181 fans back a little to help cool the hard drives on the motherboard backplane. From looking at these pics at the beginning of...
hmmm, i run a h70 and I don't remember this being a problem for me. I need to reconfigure my usb3.0 front ports now that i have a board with usb3.0 so i will check in and see if it a problem for corsair h70/h50 backplates.
Will update this later.
Also one of the nice little touches he didn't...
main rig this past year went from a P193>HAF-X (i7 950) and I think soon to a RV02E or FT02
2nd rig is in a HAF-932 (i7 930) (used to be parts from main rig, so they needed a new home)
3rd rig is in a HAF-912 its a Phenom II x2 555 BE spare system
4th rig is in a Storm Sniper (used to be main...
I can't justify spending $65+ (tax) to get an H50 when in 2010 I bought one for around $50 like others have said. Also with the Corsair H60 coming out at $79.99 retail, this looks less and less attractive.
Now your fun will really begin as the Intel announcement of all the 6 series chipsets may have a potentially degrading SATA performance, you have to rip out your board at some point.
