Still loving mine and the only thing I would love to see personally is an extra HDMI and USB port. I have been trying different settings and so far and the only real change is to reduce brightness to 49%, and colors down to 90%
I just finished updating nvidia drivers and played with the settings and wow this display really rocks now! Blacks are deep and colors are just right, I am trying and can't find anything to complain about this monitor, 1:1 seems to work fine for my needs, perhaps the only thing I could think of...
I had 1 stuck pixel on L246WP and while the store warrantee is still in effect - and did an exchange no problem, LG was ready to ship me a replacement. I guess it still depends on which store you buy from.
I decided to exchange the monitor and I liked the way LG customer service handled the call. Saying if there is a problem we will exchange it. Well the store warrantee is still in effect ( 30 days in store) so I returned it to Future Shop and picked up a perfect monitor, and got a price match to...
I had the same problem but when I hit the spacebar it recovers fine. Fortemanager works on this, I had to do a fresh OS install for other reasons but have managed to play around with the monitor a bit, need to work on dialing in the colors still. concerning the USB ports when rotating, the ports...
Havent installed forteManager yet but will soon, I thought the USB ports on the side would be a problem as I am picky about that too but they are 2 in from the outside and any cables can be routed behind the monitor no problem. I even have a USB receiver plugged in and its totally hidden from...

$799 Canadian ;) Just picked one up, the lazy A$$ sales reps were too busy playing games so I had to go to the TV section to find a sales rep, really nice to through away sales comission huh?
I just called FS web support and they seem to confirm the 3 year exchange warrantee, have not confirmed with LG though. Looks like I will pick up one today :D
One cable exiting the back of your pc compared to two or more? There would be a difference between one cable in series and two or more in parallel. And to be forward thinking, think of the opportunity to send higher bandwidth and a combination of signals from several sources not to mention the...
Its not important to get audio and video out of the same equipment to power crappy speakers. The idea is to replace the multiple connection types with one integrated cable type. One or more high bandwidth in/out fully digital ports could power equipment in series. This way you reduce the rats...
Good post Devman,
The only problem remains segregation between PC and home entertainment technology and UDI may remain to be a PC standard (?) lets hope not.

What happens when I plug a UDI PC into an HDMI TV? Will I hear audio?
If a PC simply supports UDI, then...
I am sure that HDMI will become a standard in the future especially for media center PCs but all manufacturers still have to work on a common standard to allow sound to integrate along with video, this means that video cards and sound devices need to connect and monitors (both computer & TV)...
Yes I checked it out for a few minutes today as they had it on display, Played a quick video clip and wasn't impressed with the set up however I will have to take a closer look when I get some time.
I would seriously choose the less expensive KDL40V2500 over the XBR series, the screens and backlighting are the same and the difference in the pro engine is insignificant. The V2500 has its speakers on the bottom thus making it shorter in width and without the fancy floating glass the V 2500 is...
Good point to bring up! One should never rely on store settings to compare models. The Samsung 40" 1080P did come close to the sony V2500 picture quality at one store (BB) but is that a surprise since both screens come from the same plant? All in all I did pick the best HDTV concerning PQ and...
Smart Move Kassh, which model did you get? I picked up the KDL 40V2500 myself, was going for the BXR 40" but got a better deal and the V series is way lighter!
By the way you will love this monitor, superior picture to all other brands period!
Dell Canada has it on sale now at the lowest price I remember $699 CDN
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=ca&l=en&s=dhs&cs=CADHS1&sku=320-4335
Is it posible that Dell UK will match other country sale prices?
No doubt the copyright protection measures will have a workaround if not already but lets be more concerned about manufacturers getting their act together first and actually make a monitor that plays a quality movie without one issue or another.
Which HDTV is your favorite for PC use? No Doubt they are becoming more popular so should there be a FAQ or buyers guide? And tell us your favorite and why!
Deepgray do you live in Canada? If so then BB has the Sharp 32" on sale $899.99 on boxingday. This is the same price as a 24" monitor here
I am looking to get a 32" but looking at the 40" 1080P's yesterday I noticed that the Samsung 40" had a better picture than the Sony bravia and at another...
response time will be insignificant in the hopefully near future as the screen HZ rate will be the importaint factor, so if you want to buy now then go for a quality screen
Ok Gateway has made the FPD2485W availability outside the US rather secretive and only says: ( Regarding Canada)
Gateway and eMachines products will be sold through an
expanding network of retail partners in the future. You may check the
authorized Gateway retailers (Best Buy, Costco, and...
I think most are missing the big picture here, 1080progressive is superior to 1080 interlaced and fair warning concerning the technology has been out for some time now however one has to do a compareson between the terms Progressive vs. Interlaced ;)
Bestbuy has no idea when they will come in if at all and costco customer service said they have no plans to stock it but check the individual stores (?) this is in the Toronto area
now what's wrong with this picture??
Ultimately this is supposed to be a high end multimedia monitor so why only have 1 DVI connection? Especially when VGA /S Vid etc will be slowly being dropped. HDMI will be more usefull in the future and as a universal conection instead on concentrating on the past and present connectivity...
