My friend give me this offer, should I bite or not?
Before you start, no, it is not a scam :D My friend is extremely rich and he just upgraded to i7 965, leaving an once-$1299 chip in his drawer. I told him I am interested and he gave me this offer without any hesitation.
To give you an...
I have completed my new build, see my sig for HW spec and current OC setting
It is completely stable at 425 x 9.5, RAM is L&S at 1700MHz. No graphic issue, or any issues for that matter.
But once I raise FSB to 430, I have all kind of graphic issue. Even the 3D setting preview box in the...
ok bursted! it is the ram. i unlinked it and set it at below 1700 mhz, then i can overclock as far as my cpu / my watercooling / my own nerve can take...
but the question remains... how to take my ram to its spec-ed speed of 2000mhz?
It is completely stable at 425 x 9.5, RAM is L&S at 1700MHz. No graphic issue, or any issues for that matter.
But once I raise FSB to 430, I have all kind of graphic issue. Even the 3D setting preview box in the Nvidia Control Panel has flickers and artifacts. And it will crash within...
I have completed my new build, see my sig for HW spec and current OC setting
I found that I can OC much higher, I can set RAM to 1800MHZ and CPU to 450 x 9.5 = 4285 MHz with VCore = 1.43v in BIOS. This is Orthos stable for at least 12 hours, but I can't do any gaming or porn watching, or...
I will upgrade to this MB soon, I have my CPU and SLI watercooled now and I will do the same in my new rig.
And I do overclock. I hope to go as far as my new Q9450 permits
My question is, should I watercool the motherboard also? It already comes with a chipset block, but due to its...
ok, so you actually suggest me to go for 1800 MHz instead of 2000MHz? it is a 790i's problem that it can't work with 2000 MHz properly? but isn't that support for 2000MHz a strong point for 790i? so is it actually a OCZ memory's issue? or there is a compatibility issue between 790i and OCZ ram...
I am planning for my build, 2 components are confirmed so far, they are Q9450 and Asus S2E. Now I am thinking about RAM.
I planned to spend some money but after all these years in the OCing game I have learned to spend sensibly. My favorite brand name is Corsair, but their DDR3 modules are...
Now I am thinking about the cabling. The single-cable approach is very good, but it is very time consuming to make. The whole cabling system is being built with "raw" materials...power cords, D-Sub plugs, Electronic boards, jumper plugs, etc.....and there are more than 100 solder joints....Do...
As I said, it is a prototype. just like those exotic concept cars you see in a trade show. The purpose of building this prototype is to prove my design concept, and also to build a really good watercooling solution for my PC at the same time. So I spend somewhat ridicous amount of money, and...
yes, I will make a simple electronic circult that will divde the signal rate by a factor of 10
the problem is, I am an electronic n00b.... I am looking for help from my friends now
so you are interested, let me show you some more photos:
What I got from my metalsmith
Five layers of finishing, each with a layer of modelling putty and a layer of spray-on surfacer
3 layers of black paint
I think I will make one or two design changes before I can finalize it as a mass production version. Most proably changing from BIGTX480 to TCPA120.3, to reduce the overall size.
DDCs are running by itself, but their RPM are monitored by Aquaero
And yes I am getting back my own camera to...
First, I would like to dedicate this project to my grandfather, who pass away suddenly by peacefully in my arms during a family gathering yesterday, just before the finally assembly of this prototype
What you see below is a protoype of an External Water Cooling setup. I was greatly inspired...
hardocp's reviews are usually very well made... but not this one, not even close, and I am very disappointed...
you have to familiar with simulation games in order to understand, and truly appreciate trackir...
instead we have a aracde game player doing this review... it is like asking a...
yes you need to order it seperately, which I did..... go to performance-pcs.com

hmmm.....just have a email discussion with Stephen from Swiftech, he assured me that there is no performance issue using a bowed GTX on a s939 CPU....he will aslo give me some test result on a s939 4400+ shortly...
I just bowed my Apogee GTX last night, will install it soon on my FX-60
But someone just remind me the bowing of Apogee GTX is permanent.... Oh I didn't know that!! but, no big deal!
Than someone just told me a bowed Apogee GTX will perform very badly on a S939!!!! OMFG now I can't undo...
I am working with my friend to create an adaptor that will allow Aquaero to work with Swissflow... basically it is just a simple a signal divider :)
It should be ready by the end of this month....will let you guy know!
I have done an experiment, hmm, surprise surprise....
First, see my setup:
an EK res and 2 EK blocks, all in my bathroom
fill the res with a running tap
Water run out from both blocks
Use a bottle to measure the flow
both blocks need 15 seconds to fill a 500ml bottle...
so can I connect my EK block in the way I suggested? seem the primary block will have NO flow, but the law of fluid dynamics say water will flow from high pressure to low pressure, so the flow for both block will be the same, because they have the same water resistance. Or am I correct?
This photo, which comes with the Swiftech Stealth's annoucment, caught my interest.... it will make tube management much easier... but performance-wise is it actually a good way to go?
In Swifech's annoucment it also mentioned that this parallel arrangement can also improve flow rate of the...
I am waiting for such a comparison for a long time!!!
I just invested my money and real estate space on a GTX480, and I am eager to know if it is a good investment or not
can this link up directly to Aquaero, so that I can use Aquaero's hardware-based monitoring feature to monitor the health of my pump, and shut my pc down if it die?
