So my setup is like this: Xbox 360 Slim with HDMI output to my iMac, and my klipsch speakers from my iMac with a headphone stereo jack. I'd like a pair of headphones with these features:
- Price: No more than $300 preferably
- Able to control chat volume and game volume seperatley
- Velvet...
Understandable...
and like my friend said about SSD's which I agree:
Beyond startup times and initial application launch times there isn't that much difference in performance. And even those differences are marginally at best. There comes a point where I just stop caring about those 1-2...
Why is it worth the money anyways? So I can save 30 seconds on boot up times? So I can load apps 10 seconds faster? Sorry, but please give me REAL statistics, not just opinions and overhype
Bah my parents dont see why I need an iMac when I already have a core i7 with a GTX 285. I'm just sick of windows already. I want a space saver. Macs use less energy. OSX is better. Blah. Help me out here guys, I need some more reasons to justify me buying an iMac.
So I'm getting alot of different opinions from different forums with iMac discussions in them... one person says he bought one 4 months ago, a 27" but he didn't say what model, core i3 or i7 or what. But he said he was getting bad performance in source games. So I dunno what to think now.
And I'd primarily use my iMac for TF2, L4D2 whicn I'm sure the video card in it can handle it at that res for highest quality, as well as the processing power for final cut pro n' stuff.
Well The only reason I got an SSD on my current windows machine is because I wanted apps to load faster, but after using it a while, the only thing I've really gotten out of it, is faster unreal editor loading times, faster load times in TF2 and faster installs of other misc. apps... so no I...
Well I was configuring my own iMac on apple.com - a 256 gig SSD was an extra $600 and it's about the same for any SSD of that size on newegg too. So then I guess it would not be worth getting an SSD then?
Yeah it's hard to tell what to trust out there especially since I've never owned a mac before. Just thinkin' it'd be alot easier on me and less frustrating, plus I don't do too much gaming, just the games you mentioned, mostly source games too, some video editing here and there.
Wow I had no idea. Alot of people on this other off topic forum I go to say that iMacs are not worth it because of the crappy graphics processing and newer games will be worthless to play because you can't upgrade your iMac.
Was thinking of getting a desktop mac possibly. Just so many hardware issues over the years with windows, BSOD's, ATI video card / Nvidia card problems, so many frustrations over the years even with shop builds...
