Tempest, can you post or PM me how you got that great price? I think the minimum warranty on these is a 3 year advance exchange but can you confirm if that and shipping was included? I see it listed on their site now for $1349 with 3 year warranty and free shipping due to their sale.

Thanks for the links. So it looks like one of their LCDs can have up to 3 bright sub-pixels or 5 dark sub-pixels or 5 combined bright & dark sub-pixels. They do have a no bright or dark full pixel policy so that is good.

Can you provide a link to where HP specifies their dead pixel policy. In any case, although dead pixels are probably covered it is likely they require more occurance of such than is acceptable to most discerning customers around here thus the desire for a no questions asked return policy. Like...

pawstar, what makes you think you will not get any dead pixels or are you just saying if you don't get any dead pixels you will be happy you did not have to pay extra for that luck.

As far as smart buy/retarded buy, for systems the configurations may differ but acessories should be the same specifications wise. I assume they consider monitors as accesories.
