Thier using the B1 core at the start which sucks. It uses too much power for the clock speeds. Wait for the B2 core thats the sweet spot as it uses much less power.
Even some dx9 games arent fully dx9. Call of Duty 2 could be played on dx7 does this mean its a dx9 slap on no. And developers arent going to make a dx10 only game due to 80% of the market still on dx9 so it would be seriously silly off them. I dont care if its dx9 with dx10 slaped on if it...
Dont care, if a certain card in my price range owns all the others, then ill have that. If nvidia and ati have 2 cards which perform equally then what ever one has the most goodies.
Yer how much does AMD have to do to, to make you believe they have a decent core being made. Dont you want competetion??? Intel is showing that they are waiting for barcelona to launch so they can decided what clock speeds to have thier penryn cores to run at. These two cores will...
Flipping heck doubter.
Come on we want competetion so why are all of you shooting down amd in first sight.
The poster even stated hes seen the agena cores running, plus software crossfire is possible they have done it with the 19xx series. so they dont need a bridge.
I dont belive the double the speed of a 8800gtx. It would need huge amounts of stream processors which they havent stated, high clock speeds and shader speeds.
If i was CEO i would ramp up R&D. I would keep the pace going and constantly improving the chip and not just the memory controller. AMD should of kept the ball rolling with the K8 chip but they didnt all they did was improve the mem controller, which gives about 5% more performance. The CEO has...
No ATI will come back it always happens, like with AMD they had dominace for around 3 years but INTEL came back its no different in the gpu market, ATI will come back and be the benchmark for nvidia. Nvidias lead may end with the nex generation of gpu we may never know?
In the Uk for us the gap between a 8600gts overclocked (£160) and a stock 8800gts (£180) is around £20.
The problem is the performance gap, if your gona buy the £160 8600gts you mite as well just get he 8800gts. As its double the performance.
This sucks why cant it be like last generation. Nvidias line up had all the areas covered, so did ATi when the 1950pro and gt were made. But now we have the huge gaps in performance and the midrange cards are no where near beating the last gen high ones.
The r600 is getting better with aa with the new 7.6 drivers and the 7.7 will carry on the trend of increasing performance every month unlike nvidias drivers which release randomly and not regularly.
