Although .Net 2.0 is different to .Net 1.1 and .Net 1.0, it is fully backwards compatible. So programs that need v1.1 or v1.0 should run fine if you have v2.0 installed.
The problem is that some programs don't realise that v2.0 is compatible and won't install unless they specifically find...
A follow up on last week's notification that my order had been cancelled.
I did finally get an e-mail response to the query I sent them as soon as I found out they had cancelled my order. (Seems that they are less busy than they have been only waited 5 days for a reply, instead of 15 that it...
Asus P5B-deluxe
Geil Ultra PC2 DDR2 6400 - 2GB dual-chan kit
E6600
Built 2 of these systems, both were unstable with loads of memtest errors.
System A): there was one stick that was clearly faulty - millions of errors with an identical 'bit-error' pattern, all affecting very a closely...
I really don't buy Moduslink's insistence that it is the OEMs at fault.
I bought generic software, and like many others who did the same (or bought from small vendors) - I have received appalling service, and delay after delay. As there are no other OEMs in the loop - who can moduslink blame...
My order was cancelled because moduslink had taken so long to process it, that the credit card I had given them had expired in the interim. I ordered in December, and the credit card expired at the end of March - plenty of time you would have thought.
I did e-mail them a couple of times about...
Right. Now I'm really pissed.
Just got an e-mail telling me that my order has been cancelled. I've been told to reorder ASAP as the final deadline for re-orders is noon at 30 April.
Except there's a problem - I can't reorder. As instructed, I sent my upgrade vouchers in by post. While I...
I'm still waiting - order still stuck at 'approved'.
However, as it has taken over 4 months for Moduslink to process my order - the credit card I used initially has now expired. So, I'm guessing that when moduslink try to ship, they won't be able to charge the card, and I probably won't get...
Got a new system:
P5B-deluxe + E6600
Geil PC6400 2x1GB
OCZ 880GTX
The problem is that I get memory errors - Memtest86+ test 7 fails intermittantly. All other tests pass, even after 24 hours of testing.
BIOS is the latest version (1101), RAM is running at 2.1V (as specified), and...
Woo-hoo.
3 months after posting my PoP, and 2 weeks after e-mailing a copy. I've now finally got 'COA/POP validated'.
Now, hopefully I'll get my vistas 'within 4-6 weeks'.
Thanks.
Sorry, I didn't say that I was in Europe. Judging by previous replies in this thread, Moduslink US probably won't be able to help - and I don't yet feel like calling long distance to find out.
I did, however, try the European help line. Well, it turns out that their phone line is...
Hi.
My order status has been stuck at 'COA validated' for about the last 10 weeks. I sent my POP and the vouchers by snail-mail back in December.
The only communication I've had since then has been a 'confirmation' e-mail which basically says:
I've since e-mailed back asking for an...
Active PFC alone is unlikely to save you much money. You are far better off spending your money of a high efficiency PSU.
There is an official high-efficiency standard for PC PSUs called '80 plus' which requires good efficiency and active PFC. You can be sure that if you get a model with this...
I thought this might interest some people here.
It's basically a script that allows you to calculate energy and cost savings by replacing an old PSU with a modern high-efficiency one.
But these already exist! Well, yes - but this one does a slightly more complicated calculation and takes...
It could be glue.
Large parts, like capacitors, are top heavy and this can put a lot of stress on their leg wires during transportation.
The manufacturers are aware of this - and they will often put big blobs of glue (usually a white plasticy stuff) on these big components. This reduces...
Yup. Looks like the main 5V/12V output filter inductor overheated.
What's more it looked like it had been hot for a considerable period of time - managing to scorch the circuit board, etc.
Either you had a serious ventilation failure or the PSU has been running close to its maximum...
