The retail i7s dont come with the little plastic holder that you can use to protect the contacts while lapping. Any ideas on how to protect the contact side of the CPU while you lap?

Gotcha -- the only thing that bothers me about the setting is that I have a gigabyte UD5 and it takes a few seconds at boot to "detect" the devices.

If you have one of the corsair 620hx power supplies with 2 6+2 pcie power connectors, do you have to use both connectors or can you use 1 and use a splitter? (I assume the 2 different PCIE power connectors are off different 12V rails, but thats for SLI, right?)
