Many of the files, or exe, programs in your Program Files folder are also in Documents. is it ok to remove them from Documents ? Seems like junk build up.

I looked in Documents and settings. All i see is cookies, favorites, my documents, user data, desktop, incomplete , some Bs i installed(dont know if it needs to be there), and start menu. Unless hidden. Also what is the Docume folder . How do you get to it and is that part of the junk...

This i wondered about for a while. After a fresh format my Virus scan scans 60k files or so. After 2-4 months maybe 75k files, etc. Where are these junk files located, i clear my temp, under cmd %temp%, prefetch, etc. Just wondering so i can clean out better or theres a folder i missed?

So this is what happened. I let setup run. I agred f8. Went in like i was going to setup windows. I did not hit f2. In there i hit R for repair. And it started working. I am guessing that it would have left all the other stuff i had alone. But i reformatted afterwards anyhow.

Or is it called recovery. I never used this but i am wondering one thing. I always format. When i once tried to use this i notice it alo wants to format. I am wondering if it just formats the windows files and leaves all the rest or does it whipe your hard drive clean again. As i said i never...

I know using two firewalls is not the best thing to do but what about having spywareblaster, and also immunizing with spybot search and destroy ? Is that compromising security or ok in that instance?
