We still play UT3, we get a full server sometimes on weekends, games during the week. Beer drinkers and hellraisers is the name of the server. UTComp is installed with an FOV mod also tons of custom maps. Server is located in Chicago if you ping well enough to play there, I use the handle...
lol I play DM everyday, if you are European there are multiple DM servers that are usually full. In the US/Canada there are 2 active DM servers that get players every day. UT3 is dead but you can still play.
As for a new UT? Not from Epic anyways.
ut3.. somewhere around 800+ maybe more like 1000+.
My recent gametracker history shows nearly 600 but many servers have died so the numbers are gone.
Yes the game is dead! There are still diehard deathmatch players though and we still have fun.
You guys with 100s of hours logged on mutliple...
I would not use a VA for any color critical work. The gamma shift is very annoying if you are doing image editing. However for movies and games they are superior in almost every way. Most people have TVs for such things so for computer monitors I'd stick to IPS.
FPS is a dead genre... Am I the only one that doesn't want to play some dumbed down army man shooter? I yearn for a fantasy tournament style FPS ala Quake/UT.. Maybe the community could get it done better then the big guys. Until then I'm stuck playing 6 year old+ Shooters with barely any...
I see you are banned but I will reply anyways since you might read this, first of all I have no equipment to do such a thing. Second those controls serve as others have mentioned for adjusting the whitepoint and do nothing for color gamut.
I guess after browsing reviews I was wrong about the...
The u2711 undercovers red and green, it's been measured on many review sites. I still use the sRGB mode because I don't have money to invest in a calibration and it is much better than neon colors in other modes. Gamma is also a bit low (2.0ish)
Unless you can calibrate the monitor sRGB is the best option. I don't understand why you thought Adobe RGB would be so great unless you are viewing material formatted for that color space, really almost everything online is done for sRGB. The other modes are ghastly and yes the emulated sRGB is...
Regarding that most of your choices are all the same thing with marketing added they are just IPS.. however there are different kinds of AMOLED (pentile, rgb)
Galaxy and GS2 both use old low res screens.. not really a good example. How anyone could still prefer IPS is beyond me unless you need it to be bright beyond belief. There is a reason 50" OLED costs near $10000 and the same LCD $500..
LTE's latency is a HUGE advantage. My cable went out and I was forced to tether my phone to my PC for a while.. 100 ping is generous it was more like 200-300. Online gaming is nearly impossible over anything but LTE (this includes HSPA+).
I own a GS3 and I can honestly say the iPhone 5 is an...
The screen is fine. Brightness does not always equal better. The fact that it uses PenTile is practically unnoticeable unless you are specifically looking for it, at 1280x720 it makes for a sharp looking screen regardless. The only real problem I have with the phone is the outrageous color, the...
I would take any measurements taken from a European site with a grain of salt. It is not uncommon for US sites to find strikingly large differences compared to their European counterparts. Often the screens are not made in the same country and differ.
I would not buy an LG plasma. Only Panasonic but really I wish Pioneer was still around. Honestly if you cannot afford a Panasonic just go get some random LCD. They will serve you better then plasma from either LG or Samsung, they are both subpar Plasma makers but Samsung's LCDs have been...
50k for an LCD? I don't care what kind of electonics are inside they are still IPS monitors with a low contrast ratio. I'd much rather have an OLED at 1920x1080 with a good LCD monitor at a reasonable price for anything desktop related and it would be about 40 000 cheaper.
Wow people that actually pay money for items.. that's sad.
The game is terribad anyways played a couple weeks haven't touched it since. It would take a MAJOR patch to make me consider playing again.
Who cares. As others have mentioned there are tons of free programs. I won't be caught dead upgrading to the new "ME" either, this version of windows is obviously going to flop.
I agree it would be a smash hit! I just don't have a lot of faith in Epic actually putting in any more money into UT. I want UT to be popular again so there can be tournaments and it can join it's rightful place in esports. Seeing the best guys duel is just epic and it's a shame most of them quit.
Return it. For but be prepared for a refurb which will most likely have it's own issues. Dell makes great stuff for the price but their exchange policy sucks. The last time my 2707 went bad and I had to exchange and ended up getting.. other peoples exchanges. Problems included scratches...
Why would they make another UT the playerbase is all in their 30s and up now.. All the kids play the military shooters now. I think the best we could see is a remake of an old UT game with new graphics.. which really wouldn't be half that bad.
Not really if you play at 6-10pm maybe but try finding a game any other time. The most I've seen on a server in 3 months is 12 people which is like a miracle and lasts for like a total of 5 minutes. I work nights and from 8am-1pm often all North American servers are empty, ALL of them. Sometimes...
My apologies for assuming. However at least in UT3 (never played 2k4 much) if you do not dodge better players will run circles around as it speeds up movement. No matter how good your aim is if a guy is controlling the map and getting all the armor and udamage you will not win.
Oh and another reason the game will never ever take off no matter how cheap it is is the extreme learning curve. I've seen tons of new guys come when they do a steam sale and just quit because they get demolished. The player base is so old now that even a bad experienced player will totally...
This :( being a gamer that started gaming in the early 90s I can see where PC gaming has been and where it is going. I guess it's all a part of getting older though but I just don't see PC gaming being the same thing to today's generation as it was to mine.
