AMD opteron chips were not soldered and probably anything below that as I didn't use any of the bulldozer chips but I can guarantee you opteron line was NOT soldered.
I got my Ryzen running at 3750 stock voltage in Gentoo Linux with the gcc-6 compiler using -march=znver1 no problems. I am currently moving voltage up to see where my wall is.

Yes it seems this motherboard is incompatible with these sticks at 8GB but i managed to switch to using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820144240 which were part of another system I have.

OK the board seems to be working but not with 4 sticks of RAM 4x2GB but I will troubleshoot some more, at least seller didn't send me DEAD board. +1 for him... Will keep this thread updated..
BTW the board is an ASUS P5Q-E and the type of RAM I have are Corsair Dominator CM2X2048-8500C5D
I should have really paid attention to the invoice he send me on paypal which stated 'No Refunds or Returns' but seeing that the user in question had good ebay and a little bit of positive heatware feedback I let it go over my head because I have been without a desktop for over 4 weeks now...
