Is it really necessary for half the people on these forums to continually be pointlessly sarcastic, as opposed to acting like adults?
My points were valid, as Java has always been known to be a constant source of security issues, and since security IS a major issue, there's nothing wrong with...
Sort of a weird post... mix of topics.
Been thinking about getting into Minecraft, with all the time to kill before games like Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, Max Payne 3 etc. are released.
But, I'm a little hesitant, not because of Minecraft itself, but because of Java... which is still...
So, I've a few questions:
- Which is the best and safest version of IE to use right now?
- Given that FF uses things such as NoScript, AdBlocker etc., which actually make things safer (ads and scripts can both host trojans) why are people believing IE is somehow "better" in that regard...
Bullshit. It's all histrionics, and I'm saying that as an audiophile and someone who's been a musician for 23 years and produced albums of others, so stop with this shit.
The human ear cannot tell the difference between 320 @ 44 @ CBR and "loss-less" wav etc. Only if it's encoded in VBR...
Jesus... the fucking drama... "doesn't look good"...
Why do people insist on treating games more serious than someone having fucking surgery? It's a GAME. Not every game has to look fucking photorealistic either, in order to still look good.
Every review site on the net cant be...
Pointless response. It's not a matter of file compression.
Most games these days are at least 10GB in size and upwards of 20, such as Battlefield 3, which isn't a huge game, only in terms of visual fidelity/textures.
A game the size of Skyrim, meaning the open world of it all, requires...
How the hell is this game only 5.8GB in size!?
I know the visuals aren't the most high-res in the world, which certainly saves in file size, but it's detailed and large enough that roughly 6GB seems... far off somehow.
Where the hell are you getting that impression from? More things you can do?
It looks like complete shit, visually, in atmosphere and setting... it looks like complete garbage, and the music and main protagonist, as well as the supposed "story line" he's speaking in the trailer, are all...
Yeah, so why then do they insist on using an always-on connection for something they (now) say is primarily "solo-focused"?
Bunch of bullshit artists.
First, they say it's more of a "social" game and they want people to play online together. But then they turn around and state that co-op...
Does it even make sense to run both 4x MSAA and FXAA at the same time? Wouldn't it just be one or the other?
I thought FXAA just basically took care of aliasing by itself, just in a different way... or am I misunderstanding?
I don't see the benefit of running both at the same time.
First one up, which is actually well-written:
http://pc.ign.com/articles/121/1210387p1.html
If it's a fair and accurate review, which it actually seems (yeah, I know it's IGN, but it seems fair and objective and detailed), then I'm seriously impressed and stoked!
I'm referring to the...
Yeah, that I remember hearing, just wasn't sure if it should even be showing up somewhere as a download yet. Guess not, though.
That's what I'm figuring, but not totally sure.
Hey, does anyone know if there's any advantage/need for turning on cloud storage for the game?
Isn't everything...
Question regarding pre-order bonuses....
For the map pack and the pre-order weapons, are they, or the weapons at least, automatically dl'd with the game?
I don't see a separate dl link for the weapon pack etc.
Are they just detected/unlocked in-game for pre-orders?
As much as I might still be buying D3, I'm still sick of the "the internet is forever" bullshit.
Sorry, not trying to "flame" here, but it's been ridiculous, these "defenders" of always-on DRM.
Common sense regarding the issue is just blatantly ignored by people with "superman...
Serious questions (not trolling):
- What does the gameplay feel like in comparison to past BF iterations?
Is it more like BC2? Any old that old BF2 feel what-so-ever?
- In general, how does the gun play feel?
Recoil? Are people still bullet sponges with anything other than a head shot...
I'm assuming the "benefits" you're referring to are being able to register your key, hence, never having to worry about losing it?
Would you also be able to download the game (if you uninstalled, format etc. and you didn't have the disc but had the key registered) as if you had bought it...
Just curious, given that I've never downloaded anything from Blizz before.
When D3 is released, how will you be obtaining it and why?
Digital?
Hard copy?
Even if they offer pre-loading, wondering how clogged their pipeline is going to end up for digital download.
Note: this thread...
I haven't seen it mentioned directly, so I'm mentioning it now...
...am I the only one who has noticed a drastic difference difference between the visuals in the beta, compared to all the supposed "real-time" gameplay vids released before-hand?
The beta looks like complete shit; the...
Thanks. Still not sure whether to use something like that, or like the ones on the Steam forums.
Does anyone know... if you haven't pre-ordered the game, do you not have access to all those "extra" areas with supposedly harder enemies, in different sewers/general areas etc...
I know I paid close attention, which is why I didn't touch it... no idea why so many others didn't have the brains and general common sense to see where this was going.
It's been blatantly obvious that Rage was going to be a flat, over-hyped effort, aimed directly at consoles.
Exactly, unless the devs state that they put PC first and PC takes priority... wait... that's exactly what DICE said, and they still fucked up. Guess it's still always going to be a crap shoot, then.
QFT.
Fuck military shooters, and fuck "realism"... there's enough of that shit in real life.
What should come next? DICE retires itself to the Hall of Shame, steps aside and some better up-and-coming developers step-up in the industry.
Flying Wild Hog, the guys behind Hard Reset... now...
We have Saints Row: The Third, Skyrim, Serious Sam 3, Torchlight 2... all of which shit all over Rage. I felt quite a while ago that Rage would be a dead, flat effort, and I was right.
QFT.
Gaming has, disgustingly enough, become like music... it's mostly garbage, much of it being...
How do you prevent/change YouTube from letterboxing videos?
I take vids with FRAPS, use WMM and Handbrake to compress just a bit, no letterboxing, but every vid I upload, YouTube adds letterboxing automatically.
Does anyone know why? Or how to fix/get around the issue?
Cant find a...
Man, what kind of "argument" is that?
It's not about letting games "run/rule your life"; that doesn't have to be the case for it to be a big issue when people are dropping $60 per game these days, and it's their most enjoyed hobby, especially when a PC gamer and you've invested thousands of...
Was this sarcastic?
If not, then we're at least on the same page regarding my previous post.
It's true... Blizzard's claims of being so concerned about hackers, while seeming "noble", is way over-blown.
Here's my full perspective:
- Yes, when dealing with real world money in-game, it...
Wrong. I've personally witnessed, as have countless others on the planet, petitions working regarding games, when there's enough backing.
Excellent post, +1 x's 100.
This "argument" has to stop, because there's a solution to that "problem" as well... don't play with strangers, only play with friends, period.
Don't join random public games.
Hacking/botting only effect two things: people duping items and getting ganked in PvP. If you're big on PvP, oh well...
Agreed.
Petitions work, with strong enough backing... and instead of posting 500x's a day on these forums regarding the issue, he should pick it up himself. I'd like to see that... then we'll see just how "dedicated" he is... willing or not to do literally anything and everything to prove his...
It actually looks decent... more fun than Rage, IMO, ha ha.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/43190/
Gory, slightly weird but good looking visuals, looks like has some fun game mechanics.
Anyone check it out yet?
I've a question, for those who've been playing thus far...
Is the game really worth $50?
I played the demo, and had a blast, even though it was about five minutes long. Just wondering if there's enough content here to warrant dropping $50 on the game?
Anyone throw me some info/feedback on what the best chat prog currently would be?
I've always used Vent, due to it's voice quality, ease of use/set-up etc.
Never used TS.
Usually rent servers from Nuclearfallout.
Is Vent still a good/viable choice these days?
But, if someone has a...
Great temps for air, about the same as the Megashadow I used to run, but it was tested against the Antec Kuhler 920 on low. On high, it doesn't seem like it would be quite an even run.
Even if it were, while it's great for an air cooler, with the AIO water coolers available in easy-to-install...
