There was an open box for $30 a few years ago, so I have one at home. It stays in its position even with the 12.9; solid holder.
I think if they got the big one and used zoomed mode it would be easier for her to use.
I would maybe forget about having her hold the thing; get a case that is lap friendly. Something sturdier then this:

This. Boeing is the shell of an engineering company... the 737 MAX is the byproduct of a culture where people don't actually create anything, they just outsource the design work and attempt to act as an integrator / project manager. They've been downhill since McDonnell Douglas conned them into...
It's true... they reward loyalty and years of service with more work but no money. It's also fun when you get stuck at a small plant where the only way to grow is to either take your boss's job, become a plant superintendent/manager, or go work for "corporate" in another state. If not then it's...
If you bought a monitor that the seller advertised as working, and it isn't, then file a dispute with the seller on eBay. eBay has come through for me a few times including with a $700 laptop that I found out was stolen.
If the seller doesn't step up and provide a refund then you can ask eBay...
ARRGGGGHHHHH.

I'm still happy with my 38GL950G, but damn it why can't I have it all?! Maybe the overdrive tuning will be screwed up and then I won't feel as bad :P
Jesus guys... the motherboard manufacturers already have to do voltage conversion on-board for the CPU and PCH.... you really think stepping down 12V to 5V or 3.3V with the amount of current needed for NVMe and SATA drives is going to be that difficult? They have to design the newer boards to...
Agreed, it’s not bright enough to use as bias lighting. I shut it off and repurposed the luminoodle led string that was on my old 32” monitor for this one. Much brighter
buydig.com is the only place you can buy this now at MSRP. I had a best buy open box order placed but it got cancelled :(.
I went and looked some more at the other two LG 38" monitors coming out, and I don't think they will support strobing... might as well get the better one with g-sync...
There's an open box on ebay for $1459 right now if someone wants to take that dive. Seller has free thirty day returns.
I've been watching it for a week now... they've been steadily dropping the price $20 at a time. Someone buy it so I don't have to keep looking at it in my watchlist :)...
I am hoping it turns into the 34GK950F vs 34GK950G situation where the freesync version has strobing but g-sync does not. It happens sometimes but I'm not holding my breath either :)
What I found interesting about the TFTCentral review is that they measured approximately half the amount of overshoot of the TechPowerUp video review linked earlier. Makes this monitor look even better!
Good review overall, awesome g2G response times... still want ULMB though. Wonder if...
I wish this monitor had ULMB. Would make it an easier buy so I could go to one monitor. Not sure if any G-Sync Ultimate displays have ULMB though?
Phenomenal response time, 160Hz, would be a perfect fit for some strobing!!!
Has anyone tested the HMDI port to see if it will run at native resolution and at 60Hz at least? It should be HDMI 2.0 right since this is using the g-sync HDR chip? I think HDMI 1.4 can only do 3440x1440 at 60Hz.
Anyone try the supposed adaptive-sync support on the HDMI port...
This article is shit... his own graphic shows console revenue having a larger percentage drop in revenue over five years vs the PC side... but yeah the PC gaming market is the only one fucked... right...
Also his arguments apply equally to console games. And mobile, which got mentioned at the...
Been a few years... was disappointed with my PNY 2080 Ti XLR8 low clockspeed and loud fan noise... now I have radiator fans that run at 800 RPM and a 2080 Ti that runs ~300 MHz faster at stock settings :)

Thanks, forgot to update the thread title.
As an aside I do appreciate that Best Buy discounts their open box items proportionally when a sale happens. Gotten a few good deals made better that way.

Still no place to buy in the USA though that I can see.
Has anyone heard through the grapevine if the LG 32GK850F is going to be released in the USA or not? I see it was released in Asia / Canada / Europe earlier this year, but there is no listing for the monitor on the LG USA site and their sales support wasn't super helpful when I reached out to...
Looks like Apple might need to do some TDP/voltage tuning for their T2 controller; notebookcheck used Intel's tools (and a macOS tool called Volta that lets you cap TDP) to cap a 15" to 45 watts and the results were much better. Same thing with the 13" at 31 watts.Looks like those 50-60-90? watt...
There isn’t enough bandwidth in DisplayPort 1.4 to allow for 4K 144Hz 10-bit 4:4:4.
They could be more upfront about it. I would say in a game it won’t matter but desktop use youlll notice
Same. Needed to get something besides this Apple keyboard I'm currently using after my other one died. Looking forward to it... that aluminum chassis looks nice.
So it leaks electrolyte instead of oil? :sneaky:
Anyways, would be interesting to see what range you could get out of these. Less embarrassing then a scooter on the highway, right?
This SSD is working great in my Xbox One X, though the way Microsoft does the partitions I get 1.6 TB to use... and an empty partition of a few hundred gigabytes (n)
Battlefront II loads a lot faster now though.
Edit... looks like I spent too long on this as a few other people made this point already :)

Gamers don't go out and buy a video card en masse unless a new one comes out. They also don't buy them in bulk every single day like we saw through the last six or so months of 2017 and early into 2018.
