You saved yourself a ton of time since you already have the game discs. You'll only need to download a small patch afterward and you're set. 1) Install classic WoW. 2) Install Burning Crusade. 3) Install Wrath of the Lich King. 4) Start WoW 5) Let Blizzard Downloader update your game...

50-59 BG bracket is freaking stupid right now. Nothing but Death Knights running around. The other day, I was in Arathi Basin with 14 DKs and myself as the lone non-DK. I think I'm gonna hold off PVPing for a bit until the DK craze fades.

Ventrilo has superior sound quality. Teamspeak has a more user friendly interface. You really can't go wrong with either one but I like Ventrilo better.

I own both the 4870x2 and the GTX280 and the nvidia card is much much quieter. Here were my temps with stock clocks: Idle or web surfing 4870x2 --> 35% fanspeed --> 45-47 degrees F GTX280 --> 50% fanspeed --> 49-51 degress F The 4870x2 at 35% is barely audible, a hair louder than the GTX280...

We are primarily an ODM but we do put out the occasional self-branded board. I've worked at Foxconn for nearly 3 years as a board designer and I assure you we do quality work.

About time they got rid of this nonsense. I recently started playing again after a 2-year hiatus and my lowbie characters were constantly getting killed by this crap.

Ugly yet functional. Have you tried fitting it in a case yet? At least with the stock ATI cooler, the heat gets blown out the back of the PC.

I'm not so sure about that. Play old NES games like Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, or Mega Man and you would see considerable slow down during busy parts of the game.

WOW 3.0 is what WOW will be with the new expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. When Burning Crusade came out, the game was bumped up to 2.0. Now with another expansion, the game is bumping up to 3.0.

I've always installed new drivers over old ones and never had a problem.

On another positive note, the new CCC in 8.10 fixes the hanging GPU utilization bug for Vista X64 users.

You can just use the Catalyst Control Center to monitor your GPU load/temps. Open it up and click on the Overdrive tab.

It's not a huge problem per se. It's just really annoying like having a bug bite right behind your knee.

I'm running games at 1920x1200 with full AA and all options maxed. I'm not sure if a regular 4870 can hang since the X2 also has more memory for texture heavy games. Crossfire/SLI is also not worth it IMO since you're paying double the price for maybe a 30-40% increase in performance AT BEST.

Oops, I forgot to add that I am NOT intending to use Crossfire. I simply wanted to add another card in order to utilize 3 displays.
