Ah, sorry - I don't have an xbox so I was unaware of the cabling issue. As far as the DVI/HDMI cable goes, I'm getting good results with the DVI output from my 8800GT to the HDMI input on the monitor. I didn't have to do any kind of workarounds to get it running, just connect and go.

You shouldn't have to buy any new cables. The monitor comes with a VGA/VGA cable and a DVI/HDMI cable.
