I'd prefer to keep the motherboard / CPU together unless someone offers for just the motherboard.
Motherboard is a supermicro X8STI http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon3000/X58/X8STi.cfm

Bump! It may be a part out. I've got interest in everything except the 512MB Adapatec - ASR-51645 and the 1TB/750GB drives. I'll decide in the next couple days.
Time to sell my beast of a NAS.
Willing to Part out, so send offers.

This thing has been with me for a few years, bought the case off of here on HardForum 4 or so years ago. Thing has been a work horse, and has seen a...
I didn't try to be honest. But that would have been a good test. I ended up biting the bullet and losing my uptime on my esx host. Booted into the controller and was able to build the raid5 without any issues.... so maybe it's a weird ASM limitation in windows 7. I duno. but thanks for the help! :)
Using 4x 2TB Drives, attempting to build an array using the ASM (adaptec storage manager), i can't build any raid configuration (0,1,10,5) larger than 2TB. it just spans "2.0TB" across 3+ disks I select.
I'm running the latest firmware... (August 2010) which added support for DRIVES greater...
Yea, I think we're on the same page here.
Basically i have a NORCO 2040, that i really don't want to use as just an ISCSI san, because i feel like i'm wasting the CPU and ram just sitting as an iSCSI san. I guess that it gives me an advantage for management where i don't have to have giant...
Budget is around $800 for the 3 components, willing to go over if necessary.
And Archivalbackup, TADA INDEED!!!! :D I'll review this today :)

Thanks...
Currently i have a mix of desktop / server equipment running ESX 4.0, it's giving me all sorts of problems, which I can only attribute to aging hardware (or incompatibilities).
My solution? Throw money at the problem until it goes away... sorta
My venture into pricing out a new server has...
Not looking to spend an arm & a leg, just need a board to replace the one that just died on me.
Prefer the eVGA 680i simply because i'm in love with it.
Looking to spend around $40-50
Hit me up with offers. Thanks!
I'm looking for a cheap (read: less than I can buy on newegg.com) unmanaged gigabit switch. I'm too lazy to run a second cable down to the basement, so I just want something to split off the uplink. Thanks :)
Looks like the lowest price on Newegg is $22 AR. Hit me up with a price (Even if...
Bump for you. And just a word of warning. I did the gaming laptop thing a few years back. It was terrible. You essentially lose your ability to be "anywhere" unless you have a power outlet. Just something to consider.
